Well - I've done it! I don't yet have official confirmation of my time (my phone was dead by the time I crossed the line) but by my estimation I did it in 2:48:55.
I'm feeling a bit zonked at the moment - will report more once I have recovered a bit.

I have just checked the Royal Parks HM website and it gave me an official result of 2:51:50. Since I took a few minutes out for a loo break part of the way round, I'm pretty happy with that. Not fast or anything, but at least I made it!
Hi Kim - many thanks for your message. Actually I feel about 20 years older than I did when I set off this morning, but I'm still glad I've achieved this goal.
I used the ZenLabs training app on my phone. This is a 14-week programme with activities scheduled every day. It cost £9.99 from the Apple app store. I found it useful, as I could play my music with it, but I did lose my way with the training in August when I had a calf muscle injury, so perhaps I wasn't as ready as I might have been for this morning's effort. Still, I suspect I wouldn't have been any faster anyway.
Well done, what an achievement! Your time is always there to improve upon if you wish, others not so bothered as long as they did the distance! What is important is you did it, got the bling and you enjoy celebrating after all that training. Btw where is the bling pic? Once you feel up to it write us all a report with some pics so we can enjoy your moment. Congratulations🥂🍾
Thanks! I am happy with the result as my main aims were to get round and raise the money needed for Diabetes UK. I will post a picture of the bling together with one of my race shirt as soon as that has dried (I have just washed it), as my shirt has all the names of the people I was running for.
I am still reeling a bit from the fact that I did it. One of the Diabetes UK volunteers asked me afterwards, "Did you enjoy it?" and I had to tell her, "Enjoy isn't exactly the word I'd use" - it was a slog at some points, but we had a lovely day for it and everyone was so cheerful. Those of us with our names written on our shirts gained our own Random Strangers Fan Clubs, and it was lovely to see the smiling faces cheering me on or the hands reaching out from the crowd to high-five me.
Well done Katie you did it!!!! Look forwards to your report but have a nice rest! Huge congratulations, it sounds like a lovely course with lots of supporters!
Well done sounds like you did pretty well to me! be proud of your self. Running 13.1 miles isn't easy so you should be proud of your self.
In fact, when ever I hear someone saying I just rain 13.1miles you would normally think why would you do that! that's really far! but you did it and you did it in a great time!
