4 weeks before my first 10k run, I've made the brave but potentially stupid decision to sign up for a half marathon (and a marathon following). I watched the London Marathon on TV and watching everyone participate and knowing how much fun they have has encouraged myself and my brother to sign up!
Im currently running around 7k confidently so im on the right track. The Newport half marathon is March 1st 2020 and I've set myself a goal to be able to run it happily and comfortably.
Lets see how it goes.. updates will come along the way!

Exactly what I’m doing Bethan! The furthest I’ve run is 10.3k so far, and I haven’t picked a specific HM event to aim for yet, but I too signed up for London. 😳😅
There's lots of time. Take it slow and steady - aim for 10k, then 10mile, and finally HM. It's nice to break the bigger goal into smaller goals and celebrate those achievements.
Not a stupid plan at all. Its great to have a target and you have given yourself plenty of time to get to distance and consolidate in time for the HM next year.
