I can barely contain my enthusiasm and retain my patience to complete my repeat C25k programme and get started on the PeteMagill training recommendations that have been so thoughtfully and appropriately posted by Abi.

I am digging myself out of a self made hole, and you know what they say, stop digging.

It’s perhaps not just the black hole it’s some of the reasons you started digging in the first place and what you found down there.

Overuse, poor training methods, distractions, self discipline, incorrect motives, etc.Certainly everything starts and stops with personal responsibility.Buck stops right there. No excuses , nothing else to blame , tempting and as convenient that may be.🙈🤔😂

Wake up and smell the coffee.🤔

Super compensation is where it’s at.

I am a 75/76 year old novice and what music to my ears when I read ,

Do not run until you are properly strengthened and repaired and just to make sure take an extra day.

As you age you only make very small improvements anyway each time you run /strengthen /repair , so do make sure you get that supercompensation/well earned benefit by taking the required repair time.

Not true that you lose your opportunity with advancing years to realise a pace improvement.

I look back at the relative short period of 15 months since I found this forum and the support and just the joy I have experienced in seeing the achievements and progress of all you on here. The wisdom, experience, links, compassion, kindness, concern, patience and gritty determined support from the Admins and you all.

My chest just swells with pride to be included as a member of this magic forum. Its just WOW.💫

I am a child of Children of the Dead End, Kinlochleven, a book written by an Irish author Patrick Magill and now Abi has introduced me to the work of an amazing master Pete Magill from across the Atlantic, just how lucky can you get.

Mentor IDT/Tim has for many years said on here this gift of running will change your life.Initially I did not just understand that.He also said he never ever feared a run only enjoyed.Initially I did not understand that neither.

Oh my, and how hope springs eternal, the unbelievable piece of kit we have been gifted, the opportunity to give ourselves this gift of running, supported by this magic forum.💥💥💥

For me , it just does not get any better than this.

Sorry for the rant, it’s the coming back into the daylight ,the black hole I dug was so deep.🤔🙈😂

Keep on keeping on with the magic forum.

Another inspiring post from you Tbae, I knew you came from Kinlochleven and have climbed Ben Nevis often, yes like you I have been rerunning some weeks of C25K as part of my "runiversary" season, on Wednesday it was the turn of run 1 of week 5, this morning 5.2, however, as I am already a graduate I am slowly increasing the distance I run, so I will rerun runs 1 and 2 of week 6 before running the longer runs of C25K starting with run 3 of week 5.

Have a lovely weekend

Good to see you “getting there” Tbae. Don’t forget the journey is often the best part - and with running the journey, hopefully, is a very long one 😀Just off to investigate Pete Magill.
