I’m told if I ask nicely I can get a 10 mile badge?
This was only my third run of this month following a head cold then that pesky wind. Several VRBs were knocking out 10 milers and I was feeling left out, so I just headed out to see whether or not I could.
It wasn’t quick but it was non-stop and the second half was up a pretty massive continuous hill. My heart rate was in zone 4 for most of the run and zone 5 at the worst.
It’s revived my interest in reaching HM - this was always going to be my “first step” towards that. Who knows if or when.

Yeayayayaay .. go you! It is fabulous... very, very well done....and that HM...??
I can, most definitely tell you that of you are thinking of it ... you will do it, and with style too...and what's the saying... "... If I can ... ?" xxx
Weirdly the 10 miles was much easier than the 12k and 13k, despite being the same route (but with more of the hill in the middle).
It’s given me faith that I could do a HM in a way the other runs made me feel it was unlikely. But 6k more at that pace is going to push it to 3 hours of running 😱
It is surprising how it pans out..my chip time for my one on Sunday was 2hr 55..it was steady and no trouble..and apparently..not that unusual a time for someones first HM..the pace was steady..and enjoyable..🙃it was such a lovely location..why rush it..and as you well know ..I am in no hurry. Ever!
