Finally after trying few times, I could finish my first 10k of this year. But I am so slow, it is a wonder that my app recognises my run as run and not walk. Lol

5:30 min/km is not slow! Slow down to a 6:30 pace and you`ll soon be adding more kms to your long run.
You are NOT slow, 62 minutes for 11.48Km is not slow, 5.30/kilometer pace is not slow. 😊
Thanks AIMorr. That's good to know. Any idea, What's average pace to do 10k. I have seen people running way faster than me on road so I feel like I may as well be walking comparatively
Like a 5K, people dream of running it in less than 30 minutes, in the case of a 10K, if they can run it in less than 60 minutes they will be be very proud of of themselves. The people who you say "running way faster" are what we call here on C25K 'gazelles' sub 20 or sub 40 minute 5K or 10K runners respectively.
that is no way slow you are twice as quick as me I'm aiming to get a sub 1:30 10k next one and don't forget everyone runs the same distance no matter what their time
5.30 is about how fast I can do my half on a good day, and I'm average to top third in the results so I don't think it's slow. If speed concerns you then it's worth trying a parkrun, I think it will change your perspective!
Besides, pace compared to others is not at all important, unless you plan to finish on the podium! It just gives you a personal foundation to improve upon, if you so choose to. But running is about the journey! Otherwise why would we do it anywhere but a treadmill ?
Thanks sqkr. My focus is mainly distance but if I can improve speed too along the way, it will be the best. I have been thinking of trying park runs, but really I like to run alone with music on. Not really like being in a group. Maybe thats introvert in me speaking. Lol but will try it soon.
I understand that, I too am a solo runner by choice—and so I run my parkruns alone with music on 😂 Some say it is frowned upon, but it isn't at all at my local(ish) parkrun. There are the full spectrum of people there, from introverts (me) to hen nights. I don't go to socialise, though many do—Parkrun is whatever you want to make it 😊
As your distance improves you'll likely find your speed over shorter distances does too as your body gets more efficient, it's a lovely side effect!
5.30/km is only in my wildest dreams - I’ve never even run 1km that fast, never mind 10. Given that you’ve been running less than a year, that’s a really impressive speed.
