Ahead of schedule

I ran in a 10K race today as part of my long marathon training schedule - I was supposed to be able to do it in 1hour 18mins but I managed to do it in 1hour13. This tells me that so far my fitness level is ahead of schedule for my "proposed' marathon in July next year - but also warns me that I have to start slowing down now over longer distances. I pushed a bit too hard today really - couldn't help myself because it was "only" 10K but would not be able to keep up that energy level for longer. My next fitness race test is a 15K in early December ( when it will be starting to get VERY hot). My new "Legionnaires running cap" worked well today to keep the sun off my face.

Good time for you Bazza1234, take it easy, I assume you live in the southern hemisphere when you say December will be getting very hot, certainly not the UK where it will be getting cold and dark, where I stay in Scotland its pitch dark in December shortly after 4pm

Brillant progress Bazza and look forward to reading it.

You possess good turn over anyway and I can imagine that is then difficult to reign in.But as you say it has to be.

Pleased about your cap.Gosh for a Scot in Australia 🇦🇺 that is certainly required.

Do not much like a cap, but found this year the combination of the cap and my normal prescription glasses the most comfortable shade for my eyes. My proper shades alone for sunlight protection I find less comfortable, because I feel more blind.🤔 Of course I am not, but it will take time to acclimatise. We are into winter again and early morning head torch running. Not sure yet if or when I am going to try that.

Sorry Bazza, went off on one, very pleased for you and your excellent progress, the training is a marathon alright and a challenge to be enjoyed.

Take good care of you.💥🏃‍♂️💥👏👏🔥
