UPDATE: MY RACE WENT AHEAD!

REPORTING BACK...I GOT A VERY WARM WELCOME ON ARRIVAL BY THE ORGANISER, WHO WAS SO GRATEFUL THAT RUNNERS HAD TURNED UP! AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS WONDERFUL!

THE ROUTE ALONG THE CANAL TOWPATH WAS LOVELY AND MAINLY FLAT! 😍 IT WAS 2 LOOPS OF THE 5K COURSE.

FIRST LOOP... COOL! 😎 I ENJOYED THAT 😊 SECOND LOOP... COOL! 😎 UNTIL ABOUT THE 7K POINT. THEN I STARTED TO FEEL IT! 😳 UP UNTIL THIS POINT I WASN'T LISTENING TO ANY MUSIC OR RADIO PODCASTS, SO I THOUGHT MAYBE THIS IS THE TIME TO STICK SOME ON! 🤔

GOT MY PHONE OUT AND... HORROR! MY STRAVA HADN'T REGISTERED ANY OF MY RUN! WTF! 🤬 SO I TRIED TO PUT THAT TO THE BACK OF MY MIND AND FOUND A MURDER MYSTERY PODCAST ON THE BBC SOUNDS APP! 😡 CAN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED IN IT OR WHO DONE IT! 🙄 BUT IT SPURRED MY ON TO THE END! 😂

THE RECEPTION FROM THE CROWD WAS AMAZING! 🎉 AND MANAGED SOMEHOW A SPRINT FINISH! 🏃🏼‍♀️AND I GOT A GREAT SKULL AND CROSS BONES MEDAL ☠️ THE RACE WAS SUPPORTING BONE CANCER RESEARCH TRUST! AND THE ORGANISER HAS BONE CANCER IN HIS JAW 😪

THERE WAS A RAFFLE AT THE END AND THE PRIZES WERE... 1ST PRIZE ~ A CHANCE TO SHAVE THE ORGANISERS HAIR OFF AND 2ND PRIZE ~ A 9 PACK OF BOG ROLLS! AND I WON THE BOG ROLLS! 🤣🚽

SO AFTER A FANTASTIC RACE I HEADED BACK TO THE CAR PARK, TOILET ROLLS UNDER MY ARM, I REALISED I COULDN'T REMEMBER WHERE I PARKED THE CAR! 😭 I SPENT A GOOD 20 MINUTES WONDERING AROUND MEADOWHALL CAR PARK (A HUGE SHOPPING CENTRE) CLUTCHING MY TOILET ROLLS IN FEAR OF BEING MUGGED FOR THEM 😱

HOME SAFE AND SOUND NOW AND SAT IN FRONT OF THE FIRE 🔥

AND THAT WAS MY FIRST 10K RACE!

A few cases of the virus around here, people starting to panic and storm the grocery stores (really people, all that toilet paper??? How many bums do you have?!)

However I'm "keeping calm and running on"

Main thing I'm focusing on personally is if I do have it get it, that I don't pass it to some vulnerable person.

Funny, toilet paper being hoarded, hand soap not so much. Tells me we are in for quite a ride yet unfortunately 😟

I had to buy extra toilet paper this weekend cos school is closed for all 3 of my children - so that's extra tp needed at home this week

There was a distinct lack of pasta in the supermarket though - so I bought flour and eggs and will make my own
