I noted last night that the moon was extra large, and orange, thus making our challenge that much more difficult*
But a quick tot up of the Strava group's results up to the end of last week, plus a couple of updates from non-Strava-folk, tells me that we have currently run...
5022 MILES!!!!! That's 74% of the way round the Moon, people!!!!!!!
Keep those results coming!!!!
The challenge will officially end on Sunday 30th, giving way to the Autumn Speed Extravaganza, so I will post up the final results next week. Will we make it???
* Yes I know it's just a visual trick of the atmosphere, please don't phone in π€

I have been with the forum for a few months now and graduated on 18 June. however, I have not ran a full 5k distance yet, I was about to run the full 5k after about 5/30 minute consolidation runs when I developed a sore right hip. The soreness is completely gone but I'm rerunning some of the runs as I was off running for about 6 weeks, yesterday I ran W5R3 and tomorrow I hope to be able to run W7run 1, 25 minutes non stop.
Ah - I meant: Welcome to the Marathon Running and Race Support Forum π I can see that you have just started posting on here, and I like to say a big HI to new folk!
Every Monday I have been collecting the previous week's data from the Strava group, plus any extra that folk supply on here. I don't go looking for anyone's Strava data outside the group π
The moon was so bright when I woke up last night that I thought I had overslept!
I was wondering earlier today whether it matters that my Strava privacy settings hide my runs. I can see my distance in the table but wasn't sure if anyone else can? (I'm imaginatively name LH on Strava!). Not that my distance is likely to make much difference to the total ... but I guess every little helps
I can see your distances, but I only have them from week 5 onwards. If you would like to, please do tell me your total distance from July 30th to date and I will correct the data I have π
Wow 5022 miles! Thatβs impressive π. We may need extra time to get back unless we can borrow Gruβs shrink ray to reduce the size of the moon a little? π
Oakey doke, add in 48 miles for August, and another 4 for September
(I missed one off and there will be parkrun πββοΈπ)
Must be that harvest moon, first time ever over 50 Miles for the month....πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ
Final total for me is exactly 300km π. Thought Iβd just stop when I got to this nice round number π. Thanks for organising this trip - itβs been fab!
