My palms are sweaty having hit pay on........ ( fanfare please).... The Eden Project Marathon!!!! Yikes. Yes, Ju-ju is going to do another. I am actually signed up for the Snowdonia marathon in Dec BUT it clashes with the holiday my dad is treating us to, so that was a no brainer.... obvs.
The Eden Project was my very first HM just 6 months after graduating from C25k so I was just a baby runner... my plan was to then do the Marathon, but then I had an injury, and you know how that goes. My first ended up being Paris. So this is my opportunity to nail those Cornish hills and do it strong. I dont mean fast, but to enjoy it, take it all in and finish with gas in the tank and a strong fit body. Here is my write up from the first time when I did the HM:
Ohhhh that sounds amazing! And maybe kind of terrifing too, though mostly just for everyone else as you power though the mud, arms out, hopefully roaring (well, that's how I imagine it). But definitely avoid the post race pasties, after your poor sister's experience!
Naturally I have zero tips to offer, except maybe try the roaring? Good for motivation, and personal space 😁
What a kind Dad he is treating you to December holidays and denying me the possibility, with permission of course, of cheering you across the line at Snowdonia.
Of course it is a no brainer.lol.👍
As a novice, I wondered on first reading your breaking news, how you were going to combine your ongoing streaking run with the longer training miles.🤔
I just know you will have all the technical stuff and more figured out.
Just a suggestion to sustain you through your training, do that part for your kind, proud dad.
Every good wish to you woman of steel and panther leader.💥🏃♀️🐆💥
Thankyou so much, yes my dad is indeed very kind..... I am a bit sad about Snowdon, but I will do it next year... and I will have 4 proper runs in the week and the rest will be recovery runs alongside the other stuff.... Thankyou so much 😎
Hi, sadly not as my dad is treating us to a holiday in Crete which clashes with Snowdonia so I will defer.... so that’s why I’ve plumped for Eden... Thankyou 😎
Woohoo look at the panther go. Awwwww just looked back at your post, so many old names on there. I wonder if they are all still running? That was the one, got me hooked on my HM’s too. 😀.
Bless you that’s so lovely.... Thankyou so much...and I know, so many folk on here who were here and then not any more.... but perhaps they lurk.....! Xx
When I have running doubts I always look to my children for guidance. They never worry about a run. They get up on Sunday morning, breakfast and dress in their running gear. A quick trip into Eastbourne and they get to the park run just in time to do their warm-up before heading directly to the start line. The countdown begins and BOOM they are gone.
They run because its fun, and they never question whether they will be able to do it. Keep doing what you are doing, and remember why you are doing it.
