Asics training plans changing to Asics Runkeeper

Anyone else had the Asics email stating that the Asics site is coming to an end (30 September 2018) and Asics Runkeeper will be the one to use? Runs will not be migrated. Free one year sub to the premium version - will they remind us when the year is up? Can't say I'm happy but then I do sometimes take a while to adjust to new things.

Hi I have just downloaded Asics runkeeper to my phone, the email stated that I get a year free but that it might take 7 days to come through. Most of it seems like strava, or map my run. I only used Myasics for a training plan really. The app does say that it will build me a custom training plan but at the moment it is £7.99 a month or £2.50 a month if I pay yearly. I will wait until my free year comes through and try and get a training plan and see how well it works.

I already got it and started. It’s RunkeeperGo, which uses myasics plans

The only disappointing thing is that you can’t print the plan off

Free for 12 months for myasics plan users The app works well unlike the myasics one which never worked for me. I gave up on the app but still used their training plans and uploaded the runs manually via their website

Yeah, I only use it for the plans. I write the week's runs in my training diary so I can quickly see what I need to do.

But will Nagging Nancy migrate as well? Or have they made her redundant? I never liked her but I am worried about the poor girl now :(

I will have to sign up just to find out :D

😂

After all the grief she has given you, you worry about her - you are a lovely lady

Well... how is she ever going to find another job? :D

There must be a job for a nagger somewhere: (tongue in cheek here) old style Dr's Receptionist or "Customer Service" might have to lighten up for the interview though.

I haven't decided whether to go ahead, as I've used Mapmyrun for so long. However, MMR hasn't been playing nice with my Apple Watch lately, and I'm a bit annoyed, so I'm considering it.

If you get the invitation email i’d go for it The app has been 100% since I started using it, and I downloaded a new plan and started it yesters. There is still the desktop thing but we can’t yet print out the plan, which I have already asked about I am told they are working on it

Myasics app, while I loved the plans, for me was kerapp as it just would not work You’re still getting the myasics plans but with an app that works.

I have not seen this come through yet; I just started a new plan. Hope they don’t swipe it in the middle somewhere. I’ve only used the manual plans. Not really surprised they are moving to a paid model. They were offering a lot for free.

Typical! Can you print your plan off? Have you got many runs left on plan after 30th Sept? Luckily for me my marathon is in October so I've just put the last few runs in my diary (I keep a sort of training/eating/weight/measurements diary and put my runs in that - as well as Asics and Garmin, can't have too much info 😳). Ive never really looked at Runkeeper so will need to see what the free content is once the paid for runs out in a year.

I use the free Runkeeper and have for years. It used to have some training plans on the free version but they haven’t had them for a while now. I have an old version on my tablet that I was able to see the free training plans on it and had written a few out but now I can’t see them anymore 🙁. I’m thinking of getting the paid version in the fall once I’m done the current sub 1hour 10k plan I have written out. What I like about RunKeeper (and maybe it is in other apps as well) is the ability to enter in custom runs with a mix of time and distance entered in Km or Miles. It’s been very handy especially with the strides and different speed workouts in this current plan.

It seems to take on a life of its own 😃. It’s reminding me to weigh in and to go out running

Sound familiar 😱😁 She got another job after all. I can imagine her sitting there a la Gladys Pugh. Bing bong xylophone 🎶 She was always doing her nails while making announcements wasn’t she 😃

I didn’t know you could print them. My plan goes till Sept 21. I guess we will see what happens.

when you've set up a plan there is a section just below the tabs at the top with your plan details - predicted time, no, of runs Kms And under that there is Show All Runs - Print my Plan and sync calendar. You get a text copy of the phases and effort levels and the calendar. To be honest I've never printed one out but I believe misswobble does.

Found it and it printed to pdf nicely so I can keep it on my desktop or phone.

RunkeeperGo doesn’t give you a print option. I asked but sadly no-one else did. Perhaps if you all do 🤓

If you want a new myasics plan that you can print off then get it before going over to RunkeeperGo

I notice the words “myasics” on the opening screen of RunkeeperGo
