I wonder if there is a similar thing in the U.K.? I suppose it would have to be done in areas. Could we cover the whole of the UK In Marathons?

I really enjoyed reading that this morning - especially the bits about why more people are running them. Right now, the idea of just one marathon seems a long way off but you’re right, I’m sure there are plenty of people who would join a UK version of the 50 state. Could you do it by county?
I saw that this morning and worked out that there are about 109 counties. I have run events (mostly 5ks ) in 5 of them so a lot more to collect
I must admit, I was surprised because I thought it was more than that, but I have run some of the same events more than once, and some cover the same county. I have run in different counties quite a bit, but not in events.
Someone else observed that you have to be quite well off to do all those 50-state marathons!
I too read this and thought it was fascinating I wondered how you could do it in the UKand I don't think you could. But you could do every European country that would be easier in terms of races. I would love to try it but you need to be a lot richer than me, maybe something to do in my retirement.
Maybe the corresponding version on our side of the Atlantic should be a marathon in each European country. Something the brexiteers are trying to make easier ☹️
Enjoyed that article 😃
My latest marathon was just under £15 😁 I love small and local races. She said, not knowing what kind of marathon £15 buys 😎
