7 Marathons in 7 days
It was, an amazing achievement !
And no rest days ! π
All the runs were sub 4 hours.
I know ! Unbelievable π³πππππππ
What an inspiration! Totally awesome achievement and dedication to raise such an amazing amount of money for a cause that clearly means so much.
Sadly there have been a few rugby players with that disease, I think they should wear protective headgear like in baseball.
Yes. There is a similar thing with rugby union players and dementia. There's a group of players who are bringing a law suit alleging lack of care by the games authorities. One if them, Richard Thompson is 42 and played in every England match when they won the 2003 World Cup, but can no longer remember any of those games.
Very sad.
And of course something similar in football with heading the ball.
And boxing...
And....
Thank goodness we are runners
Quite amazing!!!
Amazing indeed, he ran them all sub 4 hours.
Totally awesome and inspiring π
Isn't he just amazing AlMorr. So inspiring ππ
Just amazing! My old run leader did huge feats like this every year. Last year he ran (to support homeless shelters) from Toronto to Boston 875 km in 2 weeks and then ran the Boston marathon. 2 weeks of 60k days. That will never cease to blow my mind.
Amazing achievement Al π just it shows Nothing is impossible πππ hope I can do just 1 one day πππ
It all starts with that 1 minute run of week 1 of C25K, then you graduated running around your ship, you then ran 10K, 10 miles and have now ran a half marathon. I remember our friend Irish John saying that a marathon "is a beast" compared to 10 miles or even a HM, however, he has now ran a marathon and so could you one day in the future if you really want to.
Itβs true. The key is building a deep habit. Small chunks each day.
C25K been a memorable journey for me and Iβm so glad I took that 1st run πββοΈ Stuck onboard in the Far East thank you COVID-19 πIβm still running and enjoying every run , all crew onboard never seen anybody runs so much onboard a ship before πππ
As you said, one run at a time till I achieve the Marathon πͺ
Not that far off π€π€π€
Do you intend to run your first marathon on ship or wait until your next leave and run it where you ran your first Half Marathon?
Incredible πͺ I just want to know what he ate!

Totally amazing achievement
Absolutely amazing, but I wonβt be trying it myself. ππ
I don't see me doing that either, however, this morning I had, would you believe it, a PB, on recent Wednesdays I have been running a 8K, usually in just a teeny bit over a hour, today I ran 8K in 56.52, that's 5 seconds quicker than 2 weeks ago's 56.57, I might try for a 10K next Wednesday..
Well done AlπββοΈππ
Thank you Dexy5, the next 2 Saturdays will see me running Damienair's 39th and 40th virtual 5K parkruns, as its near Christmas I will be running in my red Santa hat and Reindeer Santa jumper, the music πΆ will be all π€Ά, Christmas, this Saturday songs like Slades Merry Xmas, Driving Home for Christmas etc, the second Saturday, my 40th virtual parkrun I will be running to traditional Christmas Carols, all that music πΆ are from two Spotify Christmas playlists I have.
I have found over the last few weeks that I seem to run faster with music than when I have my metromone app, this morning I had music with my 8K.personal best, not the metronome app. π ππΎ
Wow, that's good going!
Another feat I came across on Youtube is Eddie Izzard's 1 month of daily marathons in South Africa. Eddie's feat was remarkable due to him not being an "accomplished" π runner nor very fast or springbok-like (and not being fit enough either in the early days). True grit and determination... A great example to those of us struggling towards a running goal. The series of videos is very entertaining too - youtu.be/RQA-1xE-QXQ
What got me about this was how Eddie ran holding those flags ππ
Iβd just mentioned him above. This was awesome. Great documentary after the event. I loved it It spoke volumes about the man
He also did/does ? Charity bike rides, one of which saw him pitch up in my town one lunchtime, alone and unannounced. He asked a group of school kids on lunch break where to get some decent grub. They took him back to their school and fed him. Bless em π. I have his βGloriousβ CD which is very funny π
That's incredible, hats off to Kevin! I hope he raised a ton of money for such a worthy cause πππ
Yes well done Kevin.Fantastic achievement and a great cause.π
