I count (usually to 100 and then I start again... ) boring (I have the option of more languages, but still boring..) and definitely to be used only during a crisis, but it works
That is so wierd, so do I!!!!! I use it alot uphills, I count to 100 and then count to 60 doing a slower pace. I started this when I ran everyday on Gwithian beach in Cornwall, flipping hard work but sooo good!!!
Oh yes, if I have a shortish distance to go I count, I think 100 MTs is about 100 paces so that helps. I never thought of using my second language, I'll try that next time, thanks Ocramireob. Other than that " I can, I can, I can" helps on hills.
