so i am coming up to 2 years running and never been injured, sure had a couple of aches and pains that a normal rest day cured.
But since the marathon my left knee hasn't felt that great, but when walking and and running it feels fine. Just if i drive for more then half an hour it starts to hurt on the knee cap and also i will wake up at 3am with it hurting alot if i move it about a bit then it will stop. I also just noticed that i have a bruise on the inside of my let next to my knee.
I have been pretty relaxed just one 10km and 3 x 5km runs since Brighton so i have hardly been over doing it!
whats wrong with me? do i need to rest? do i need to amputate my leg? or should i just carry on running hope it disappearing. I have been pretty relaxed just one 10km and 3 5km runs since Brighton so i have hardly been over doing it!

I think I'd be getting advice from a physio. Sometimes it's best not to guess with these things, you don't want to cut your running career short. Hope you get it sorted, injuries are a nightmare! X
Certainly rest initially to see if the problem eases and get better, having been out with a knee problem I would err on the side of caution rather than risk a more prolonged outage ... There could be many reasons for the problem, seeking advise from a doc or sports physio wouldn't hurt.
Before you get your saw out to amputate your leg go and see a physio... ( just in case you dont need to) or a sports osteopath which I think is better....
