Hi all. I have regular injections of Eyelea. Last one mid july. One week later I contracted covid. First time for me. Still testing positive on a lateral flow test. Next injection due in a few weeks. My question is are you ok to have injections whilst recovering from covid? Have read you can still test positive for quite some time.

What does your eye specialist say? What does the Macular society say? I don't know, but they will. Have a good recovery. Sending you a hug! xx

Hello, the NHS states that Allergies, eye infections and recent cardiac issues are reasons to delay treatment, but COVID is not mentioned. However, if you present with a high temperature, increased blood pressure or other unusual symptoms, the clinic may want you to wait until these pass. The best thing to do would be to call your eye clinic and ask them about their policy.

I hope you are feeling better.

Yes thank you. My injection went ahead. My BP and temperature were checked and were ok. I did mention my covid cough as I still had it . I had a course of antibiotics but the nurse said it was ok as they ended a week before.
