Time between Lucentis Injection

Hi, when you have monthly injections, how many days do you wait from injection to injection, 4 weeks or 5 weeks? I have monthly injections, my last one was on July 16, at the hospital they are trying to apply the next one on August 13, I would preffer to wait until August 20. It is recommended? Dr can apply injections only on thursday. I have myopic CNV, my last bleed was on July 1. Thanks

I found I had them every 4 weeks but the hospital should know best.

Dr decides based on response to previous inj. So different for everyone.

Ask your doc if he thinks you can extend safely.

Sometimes the wait between is longer than usual if clinic busy and they can't fit you in but unless part of a planned extension I wouldn't want to wait longer than 2 weeks more than usual myself as permanent damage can occur.

The plan is always to extend times between inj but only your doc can know when that's suitable for you.

I think it's 29 days between injections

I found it was either four or five weeks depending on how busy the clinic was.

Good Afternoon josexp3,

The minimum time between injections is 4 weeks. However, individuals will have different times between injections depending on their own independent medical needs. Some people need an injection every 4 weeks on the dot, some people can go 6. 8 or longer and can possibly be slightly lenient.

It might be a good idea to speak to your consultant and get their advice on how long you need in between injections.

All the best,

Becky

I've been having Lucentis injections for about 3 years & started off on the 4 week program. This was extended over time to 10 weeks but that was a step too far as some damage did occur leaving me with a slight permanent distortion. I've now settled down to 8 week intervals which the Opthalmologist agrees is right for me.
