That was kind of him. In my area you have to buy drops for dry eyes as they cannot be supplied on prescription (a bit like ibuprofen and paracetamol)

in reply toKoalajane

Oh, I expect my repeat for them will be stopped soon then ( unless I get them as condition chronic?).

Some months ago my Opthalmologist gave me Xaillin Gel for my dry eyes and the following visit, the nurse who gave me the injection gave me another tube. Nothing since though. 😒

My husband uses it. It was taken off his prescription for a while so he had to buy it and it then suddenly reappeared much to his pleasure

Hi Isabella123,

How could eye drops help with pain that feels like a bruise? Did the drops help you?

Thank you,

My consultant said dry eyes can cause the pain and these drops lubricate the eye.I will let you know as I have 7 eye injections co.ing up xx

Isabella123,

Thank you. I have not done anything for the pain, Today is my fifth day since my first injection last Wednesday. I was going to take Tylenol but did not because I did not want to use it too often. I am having my first injection in the other eye on Wednesday and will need it for that. I did not think eye drops could help what felt like a bruise. I do not think dry eyes was causing my eye pain: the needle injection caused it.

Take care,

I have heard iodine can cause pain but if they flush the eye well it can help xx

Isabella123,

Thank you, again. I do not think that “sand” feeling was from any iodine. I was rinsed so thoroughly and carefully afterwards, I know there was none of that remaining.

Was it like a piece of grit. They that is normal xx

Isabella123

Thank you again. It felt like a small piece of sand or a very tiny stone moving around for about a day and a half. As that went away the eye felt bruised or sore. Every time I moved my eye, I felt a pain; somewhat tolerable; I could not touch the eyelid, even ever so gently, without pain. Just on the boarder of requiring me to take the Tylenol (Paracentamol in UK). I want to know what causes the “sand” feeling? It has to be either the needle or the medication.

Isabella123,

That’s alright. There are only two choices. I will handle this with my doctor on Wednesday. I am sure he will know about this. Most likely, I am not the only patient experiencing this.

Hi Bunny, I had my second right eye injection today, I am tender and I am using Artelac eye drops, they help sooth my eye and keep it moist, I was advised to take Panadol for the pain or discomfort.. thank God I am resting and doing fine.

I get my left eye injected next Monday. The specialist has stopped using eye clamp except in certain situations, which I find fine as I got a very sore eye the first time it was used, he will just say to look in a certain direction just before the needle goes in, he injects twice into the eye..

Best wishes to you and take care x

Yeso,

Thank you for sharing your experience with me. The physician’s assistant held me and gently held my eye open...no clamp. I think she did that because she was afraid I would move. I was all set to jump out of the chair. I did not feel a thing, though. I was very surprised about that. I am thinking your Panadol medication (UK) is Tylenol (USA)?

And Artelac is like Natural Tears?

Thank you,

Bunny1756

Yes Bunny like natural tears, I get them in individual dispensers, for hygiene..

Well done and like myself you are most likely tender today, my eye is puffy and tender after yesterday’s injection but I’m doing fine thank God..

Take care of yourself x

Yes or,

No, not any more bruised than it has been for the past six days. Every time I move my eye to the right I get that “bruised” feeling. It is like a muscle in there was hit. I hope it stops. Tomorrow, the other eye.

Thank you, again,

I use dry eye drops at leady twice a day, was using Viscotears for 3 yrs but the last year eyes were very sore on a daily basis, so eye clinic gave me prescription for Hylo forte drops, they made a huge difference for last month, got eye inj Mon so I'll ask if I can gave them on repeat off GP.

I don't pay for prescriptions (they are free in Wales anyway)...we are lucky .Hope your drops work fir you Isabella x

Superdrug moisturising drops ...buy one second half price. Cheapest of all - I use fresh sterile one for each injection.
