Hello all

I just had my 5 eye injection for wet AMD and this is the first time I ended up with a pretty good eye bleed but no pain, my question is it safe to use artificial tears for dry eye that I have. Waiting for the doc to return my call but in the meantime has anybody used artificial tears with the eye bleed.

Thanks

I haven't but that's not to say you can't or shouldn't. I think it's wise to wait until you've spoken to the doctor just to be on the safe side.

Good morning Jakeone4. I am always told to use use artificial tears copiously after an injection to wash out the iodine which stings me like mad . I use hycosan and they really help. I hope the hospital get back to you soon.

I have always been told I can use eye drops after an injection but it has been stressed it should be a new one so they will be sterile

Have a great day thanks for the information

Good afternoon Jakeone4,

As has been mentioned before we would always advise to get advice from your ophthalmologist before using any eye drops.

Warm regards,

Kelly

My hospital gives me a small bottle of eye drops to take home with me after I've had the injection which I do four times a day fo five days following. I thought this was the regular procedure, or am I just lucky with my area.

No, it's prescription only, has to be supplied by the hospital but it's NHS so should be available if you are in the UK.
