Vabysmo

I attended the eye clinic last Thursday this being one month after my third Vabysmo injection, amazing the eye has dried up! Whilst I do need an upgrade on my prescription glasses, they told me to do nothing until the eyes are stable. Annoying tho this is, it’s a small price to pay for such success.

That's really great news Seamus and I hope it stays that way, I'm really pleased for you - I have my third on Thursday.

I'm so pleased for you Seamus. I presented with a very obvious bleed which had completely disappeared . at my review after the first injection of Eylea.

Unfortunately after 2 and a half years I've just had to have my 10th injection. I'm going to ask if I can have Vabysmo next time. It seems to be more effective as well as more long lasting. All the best. 🤞

yes, de enquire. I was on my 33 rd Eylea injection with only moderate success. So do ask about Vabysmo. Good luck

Really pleased for you Seamus. Great to have good news on the website. I have been wondering about asking. Only thing that puts me off is the monthly loading doses. I find jags very painful indeed. At the moment on six weekly and struggle with that.

after several years of Eylea jabs, and initially with severe discomfort post procedure, I explained in detail to the Dr/nurse that I considered that it was the Betadine wash and requested copious post procedure irrigation. Subsequently, the severe discomfort went, yes, there was occasional‘ gritty sensation. As for the four loading doses of Vabysmo, no severe discomfort. So please don’t let that dissuade you. Good luck‘

thanks Seamus. Have sorted the problem you mention but unfortunately the aneAsthetic drops don’t work for me. But think I’ll give it a go after your encouraging results.

that is such good news I will probably (as is usual) have to wait till everyone in the UK with wet AMD have had 3 doses till I get to try it myself.

I have seen many good reports on it and will probably get to trial it sometime next year.

With Lucentis it was given to AMD patients in 2007 and only 2013 did those with DMO get to try it so at least it will be quicker than that!

I wish you well and so glad it’s working.

keep positive, I am sure it will roll out quickly as the results are rather good overall. Good luck

It’s not how good it is it’s about the funding. It is already approved to be used for those with DMO ( I was on the panel that approved it 😃) but it can lay be given to one type of patient first. I will eventually get it as said but I know how the funding works. On a plus side it has shown good results already for wet AMD.

had my third Vabysmo yesterday after all others were not working they said stubborn fluid. The fluid disappeared after first jab. One more jab to go and if all ok will try to extend me cautiously further.

Really pleased for you Seamus, long may it last. My injections were changed from Lucentis to Eylea and then stopped as I was told the disadvantages were more than the benefits for me. So I'm now thinking I will quote your post to my consultant. I don't know if they have the funding for it here in Devon but I would think in the long term it could work out better for the NHS if it works so quickly. Please let us know how you get on in the future.👍

I think Devon will be similar to Somerset re funding. I wish you all the best and will certainly be posting as to the future benefits (hopefully).
