Hi.
I had my 6th Eyelea injection on Tues. There are a lot of drops and flushing of the eye which I can taste after. I am also on 6 drops a day for dry eyes plus 3 for pressure in my eyes. A total of nine a day which I can taste as well. Since my last injection I've had sickness lasting 3 days. Does anyone else get this and do you think it's from all the drops going to my stomach?
I have never had sickness from Eylea.
Do you press the corner of your eye near your nose after putting your drops in as I am told that can help
Yes I do that at home but not able to at hospital as we have a cloth over the eye then an eye shield is out on with tape
Hello lupin1587, I have been having Eyelea injections for some years and have never experienced any sickness or taste that you describe. I would suggest that you discuss with your doctor or at the hospital, as clearly this is something that should be addressed. Best wishes.

Hi Lupin1587. I had Eylea injections for over four years and didn't have any sickness or taste with any of the injections. I agree with Penelopeflower about discussing it with your doctor at the hospital.
I wonder if punctual plugs would help here. This would mean that no drops are able to be absorbed else where and would stop you tasting anything . I have had punctual plugs inserted and I needed the largest they had. Maybe tell them your symptoms and ask if punctual plugs are an option. They are great for those taking pressure and dry eye drops. The punctual plugs last for years and are easy to be put in by the ophthalmologist.

I have Eylea injections and the only taste I have is from the iodine used in the process.
It is the sickness you feel. The taste? It might be the iodine they put in you that you are tasting. What are your symptoms as to the sickness?
Yes the injector and another doctor in the eye clinic feel it is the iodine as another patient has similar problems. My next injection will not use iodine and I will get a double flush out after injection. Hoping this will help me.
HiI can't comment on sickness from Eylea, (though it may make me tired for a few days...) but I can recommend castor oil eye drops for dry eyes. They've been a game changer for me. I no longer hear my eyelids moving at night - if that makes sense!

Hello LupinI buy 'Very Naturally' Castor Oil Eye Drops. They are made only using organic, cold pressed castor oil. Importantly, they are hexane free, and contain nothing else. There are several brands online - these just happen to be the ones I originally bought, but I trust them enough to recommend them (they are a bit more expensive than others, but still super-economical). I use them before going to bed. One, or two drops in each eye. A 30 ml bottle lasts months. I keep them in a drawer next to my bed, away from light.
I moved onto drops two years ago. Before this, I wiped my closed eyes with a clean piece of cotton wool using Pukka Organic Castor Oil (Hexane free) which you can buy widely - even at Morrisson supermarket in the UK. It still gets in the eye via residue on the eyelashes.
I don't use them 24 hours before an injection, or 72 hours afterwards. This is not a medical recommendation - I don't put anything near my eyes beyond saline solution to limit infection.

what is the brand name of the castor oil eye drops? I have never heard of it, & am in need of plastic surgery because of the extreme dry eyes. I would like to try it.

Like everything non-Big Pharma, there are both articles supporting, and dissing the use of castor oil eye drops. I have only found benefits - far beyond the most expensive eye drops from my opticians. I need only use them at bedtime and not during the day, unless I am driving a longer distance.
...by the way, I gave up contact lenses a few years ago, so am unable to recommend wearing lenses and using castor oil drops. I imagine it's not a good idea as the oily film created might make lens impossible to clean and/or blurry. However, used 8 hours before use should be okay.

Cool. The bottle of castor oil sold at Morrisons is with health products such as spirulina powder. I buy my drops from Ebay.
