Hi, I am on steroids for PMR and I get red patches on my arms especially if my arms rub against anything. I am on prednisolone and it seems to be quite a common side effect

Same here but his legs are such a mess. The Consultant for his eye reduced the amount but it's not made any difference.

He's got uveitis and his sight is minimal

Good Morning Oldwood,

Have you let his consultant know about what has happened and how there hasn't been much change since the reduction in dose?

All the best,

Becky

Morning Becky, yes the problem is that we are in lockdown in Spain. We spoke to him last week at Moorfields Eye Hospital London.

He reduced the steroids to 3 tablets a day from 6 a day. The Consultant wants him to get back asap. He has a sore on his legs that will not heal. If he stops the steroids he could loose his sight.

So worrying. Thank you

Good Morning Oldwood,

This link may be of help:

But if his situation is getting urgent, it might be wise to contact a local eye clinic to where you are to discuss some advice and possibly be seen.

Best Wishes,

Becky

I have these patches in my toes. They went black, swollen and very painful. I’ve had uveitis for over 15 years and been on steroids for all of that time. I saw a vascular surgeon two weeks ago who did Doppler test and ultrasound on my feet and he gave me angina medication which has improved the black toes and associated pain massively. May be worth a mention for a vascular doctor to take a look. Best wishes.

Morning

I was on steroids for 8 years starting at a dose of 10 tablets for 2 weeks 8 tablets for 2 weeks 6 tablets for a months then 4 for the rest of the time I never got the side affects that you are getting i just put on around 3 stone and was constantly bloated. The affects i did get was a constant red face . I have now been of steroids for 6 month and have steroid implants which would probably a wise choice for you to have .

The implants do work.

Thank you for your information, perhaps that's what the Consultant will do next time we see him. Implant of steroids.

Glad you didn't get the red blood marks over your legs and body.

Thanking you
