Laser for crvo
Morning, I hope things go well for you, a vein occlusion is the result of something else and not a causative factor so look after yourself. High BP, cholesterol, lipids, smoking, diabetes, glaucoma and blood clotting disorders can be causes. I believe the laser can be painfuI and normally 2 sessions are given spaced apart by a week or two. The laser PRP is usually given in CRVO when there is neovascularisation, which is a complication of the condition. New vessels form either on the iris, drainage angle, retina or on the disc in an ischemic (not getting enough oxygen) CRVO. If your vision is good then hopefully it may stabilise it, however if your vision is poor it will help to prevent more vessel formation and possible raised pressure and pain.
Take care, and ask your eye specialist to clarify things for you, that is what they are there for.
Thankyou for all the information i will ask my consultant more questions nxt time the dr that done the laser was very abrupt, when i asked if ot would damage my eyesight he said 1 laser treatment bit 2 more 3 lot more i hope i Don't have to have that again ,
