WetMD and misalignment?

How many of you have also been diagnosed with misalignment of your eyes? I just found out I have it in both eyes. I have Wet MD in right eye, and have had about 5 Eylea inj. but I wondered why I was seeing double - so to speak! So I was recently diagnosed and given glasses with prisms in them (which help greatly) but am interested in having surgery to help correct. Can I do that?

I'm in the UK and have wet MD in one eye and dry in the other and also have prism glasses for the past two years due to the muscle in one eye being weaker it's a nuisance!! I've never been given any other treatment for the condition I don't have it close up on here just in the distance.

I have double letters and numbers, while typing online. I’ve decided it’s when I’ve been online too long and my eyes are tired. It’s just in the center of the word or numbers, $600 looks like $6000 and a bit blurry.

Hi. I am 35 and have idiopathic macular degeneration in my left eye and when I had my 2nd injection I started to experience this shadowing/double vision. The doctors and an optician has told me that my brain would 'catch up' and it would improve as I haven't got double vision in the true sense of the word. Do you think I need to push for prisms?

Good afternoon Wetter,

There are treatments available for misalignment. It would be worthwhile speaking to your ophthalmologist at your next appointment to see if any treatments are suitable for you.

Best regards,

Kelly

Good Morning Wetter,

I have CSR in both eyes and was having lucentis injections in my right eye. After 5 injections this was switched to eylea. After the 2nd injection i started to get double vision. I could see normally, but as i tried to focus on an object, i would see 2, they would split apart, try to go back to one and then split again. I was told my eyes were misaligned and given a prism to correct it. This did help but is crazy to start. I later had it explained to me, that my brain was getting 2 very different pictures from my eyes, so it split them, tried to realign them and because they looked so different it then split them again. I have been stopped from driving due to the double vision. It took me months to adjust to the prism, especially at night. I have noticed when cycling with prescription glasses that dont have the prism that i am not getting double vision anymore. i have removed the stick in prism from my glasses and seem ok so far. I am awaiting an appointment to find out what is going on. Its crazy.
