High body temperature in the early am

I have suddenly (the last 3 years) been suffering unbearable internal body heat from around 3am until I wake up. When this is happening it causes me dry heaves so badly it's not funny. Does anyone else suffer this?

yes I do and its awful. I can get it anytime of day or night though. I have had a 4 tog duvet on all winter, sleep with the window open whatever the weather and don't wear pj's. I spent most of the winter in just a t-shirt.

I have just been and bought a new small cool bag and some icepacks so when i go out I can take it with me along with a cold flannel so i can try to cool myself down a bit. We have also been talking about getting some air conditioning to try to help.

I have no idea how to ease the nausea, i try taking sips of icecold water.

Hi, I suffer night sweats and my temperature is very high at that time. I've had this for the last few months, but not sure if it is my age, SLE of a mix of both. But it really is a problem when it happens.

I have this all the time, on a bright note l save a fortune on heating bills !! Does anybody suffer from really crazy dreams ? I can remember them all in the morning and it's as if l am reliving my past and the present day all mixed into one. When l wake up l don't know who or where l am ? Haven't had a decent nights sleep for over 2 years now

I'm the same with the crazy dreams, it's frightening sometimes, weird and so vivid. People from my childhood mixed with very recent acquaintances, or sometimes speaking to people who are dead, which scares me no end when I wake up! I always put it down to high body temperature, though, can't do much about it.

Snap on the heating bills lol ! As for crazy dreams, I can't class them as nightmares but they really freak me out. they always start just before a flare .

i had a blood test to check my hormones but they ok so not onset of menopause. havnt been given answer by rhuemmy or gp why this happens though. x

I am so pleased to find others like me. I am hot all day every day, I wear a t shirt all winter and like tiredmum I have a summer duvet on all year and spend most of the night uncovered. I dread the summer because the extra heat makes it unbearable for me combined with the other Lupus symptoms and trying to jeep out of the sun. Hope you learn to find a way to cope and best wishes

I'm so glad I joined this forum! I have the sweating all day everyday too! I find it really embarrassing when I'm out because I think everyones looking at me, and I have to avoid certain materials because I'm afraid of marking my clothes and feeling even more self conscious. I asked my rheumy about it but there was no real advice given and I got the feeling that he thought I just have to get on with it but its really not nice. Also, when I have these hot feelings, I can also feel really ill at the same time, with a raging headache.awful.

Why is it lots of us suffer with the same things yet when we mention it to the drs they fob us off? Now beginning to realise it's because they do not know the answers and will never admit that to us !! We seem to know more than they do about our illness as we search and educate ourselves!Maybe the doctors treating us need to educate themselves more if they are responsible for treating us and prescribing us with all sorts of medication !!!!I am lucky at least my Renal consultant is brilliant, others not so - why do we have to put up with incompetent consultants ???

In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), the liver is active from 1-3am and then the energy is active in the lungs from 5-7am, etc... If you are on various meds, perhaps the liver (or the lungs) feel over-worked at times - just a thought... xxx

I suffer too and have to go outside on a morning to cool down or I feel I'm going to feint. Just a thought,I bought a new bed with memory foam, this retains heat so whilst helpful to joint problems it makes me too hot..
