As there are no meetings currently available to some of us, I was thinking of the possibility of trying to organise a get-together where we can meet up and chat for a while. This would be so beneficial for me and I am sure others too. And its a nice reason to get on the train and get out for the day
Venues suggested:
Leeds
York
Doncaster
Sheffield
Derby
Please, if you would like the opportunity to meet together with some fellow Lupies, reply and let me know when you would be able to make it, am thinking of March to give me chance organise as I have never done anything like this before
Thanks xxx

The East Midlands lupus group covers that area. If you go to their website you can contact them and see if they have any meetings coming up soon. eastmidlandslupus.org.uk/
Uzi41 I live in London and hope to catch up with people there - (if you are i terested) - but I could do Derby if that works for people - either train or drive. If anyone is interested in travelling to Derby and there is enough for a gathering let me know.
Also anyone in the Reading/Thatchem/Newbury area of Berkshire that want to meet I am happy to arrange that too.
Awww so sorry you are so far away, but I am sure there are groups in/around London that you could attend, maybe worth sending Paul a message to find out
Is that the London Borough of Merton in South London? If so, the South London group is nearest to you. They tend to meet in Croydon. If you'd like I can send you their contact details?
Lupus UK, run what they call coffee and chats, I would recommend getting in touch with them as they have leaflets and guidelines and advice for these things. I help with the plymouth coffee and chat. We meet in a local hotel lobby. Very pleasant, easy parking and quiet enough not to be too distracting. You also get good parking and access.
I hope this helps. It is good to have the back up.
West Midlands Lupus Group (WMLG) have an afternoon "drop in" meeting at Dudley once a month westmidlandslupus.co.uk/lup... and annual meeting at Warley (usually in the spring)
Hi Moira. Lupus UK have Regional contacts in Scotland with some regular meetings taking place. Contact Lupus UK and they should be able to put you in touch with your nearest contact. There may be a group near you!
I'm in Dundee, I dont drive(which makes it more difficult) and thought that the support groups are in Fife - which is not really good for me. Bus is the only way to get there and the UV lights make me sick
I know there are meetings in Fife, but a lot of groups also have smaller meetings scattered around. If they don't have one at present, they may be able to help put you in touch with other members close to you. Would you like me to send you contact details for your nearest group?
I think this is long overdue I really would love to meet up with others just for a coffee and a chat. It would be brilliant I live in Essex. I know there are group meeting but being medically retired what about the long lonely days we all spend it would be lovely to once a week catch up and even help out someone who is struggling that young lady who posted a while ago who has small children I would have loved to have said I'm on my way to help. I am sure I am not the only one who feels like this am I?
I understand you completely, I too would like the opportunity to get together with others, maybe even offer a listening ear to those recently diagnosed... I have been doing this an awful long time (diagnosed in 2005) and I have never met a single person that also has Lupus... Time to change that I think
would love to meet up, new to here and going through tests to see if i definitely have lupus so not yet confirmed. I live in durham so any of the places up this way would suit, york leeds etc. would be nice to have some support / provide support after all i'm sure most of you guys know more than the doctors !
