Ok everybody,it seems we are all relying on our GP's.What else can we do?Not a good time for me to try and be positive, especially as my own GP surgery has informed me unless I am an asma(forgive my spelling)sufferer or,diabetic I am not entitled to a flu jab.I am 63,I am not clear about this ,perhaps somebody can clarify?

Help
Hi Binkey
My Docs send me a letter to have the flu jab has done since I was told I have SLE
2 years ago. I though that all who have Lupus should have the flu jab, sorry I don't understand.
I had to ask if I should have a flu jab because of my condition and medications but I did get one. So keep trying.
Anyone with an auto immune illness should have a flu jab, push for it.
I am afraid you do not know my surgery.I will get more advice but,I already have flu and am feeling awful and just can't deal with my surgery any more.I just don't have the energy at the moment and am having a difficult time being positive.I also have my mammogram tomorrow so,my mind is elsewhere but, thank you all for your comments.
I always get a flu jab/flu shot every year. I end up getting sick regardless but at least I'm not getting that flu! I'm not aware of the practices in the UK but here in the USA, they have it available at pharmacies with no requirements. All the best, I hope you get it done!
I am a pensioner on a low budget and of course every penny counts.I did think, having paid my taxes and national insurance all these years I should not feel guilty about using my NHS service. As far as I am concerned they can keep their flu jab because I do not have the energy or strength to query their decision. As you may read from the other blogs,it seems,if you have a low immune system you should be entitled to the flu jab but then, you are not dealing with my surgery.
Binkey.....Trust me and everyone else YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A FLU JAB......NO questions asked!!!!! because of your age, because you have an auto immune disease so KEEP PUSHING and dont leave the surgery until you get what you want from then. If neccessary threaten them with the General Medical Centre
Can't believe they're not letting you have it done! Please go back and insist!!
I am on my own,due for my mammogram tomorrow so,at a very low edge at the moment. You can't contradict my GP surgery.Have had to do this before and it took months, all I received was a letter of apology and attitude ever since. Can't prove it.I was actually told to go and read a book when I was first diagnosed with high cholestorol when I asked what I should do.There are more instances and I know i must find another surgery.
Have a look at the NHS Choices website for people entitled to the flu jab this year as it clearly states anyone 65 years or older and people with a reduced immune system.
Thanks jonesy1,I am 63 so perhaps immune system or no,I am not entitled to the flu jab.I really did not mean to make it a problem for my GP,I just asked,as I have flu at the moment,if I should have the flu jab.Thankyou so much for your help.I am new(fairly)on the computer but,I will get there.Thankyou once again for your kind help.
