Lupus Awareness Month has come to an end for another year. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed throughout October to help improve awareness and understanding of lupus amongst the public.
Our facts of the day were shared on Facebook 1,509 times during October. The awareness video was watched 8,045 times and our website received over 39,000 hits, we sent out 14,000 copies of our new poster designed by Karen Fox!
Whilst Lupus Awareness Month is over for another year, the need to raise awareness continues. Many medical professionals need to be aware of lupus so that they can recognise the symptoms and move towards a diagnosis and treatment. Greater awareness is needed in the general population so that the undiagnosed might consider lupus and discuss it with their doctor. It is also needed so that people will understand that whilst someone with lupus may look well on the outside, they are actually quite unwell.
Better awareness of lupus begins with you! LUPUS UK has a range of literature and awareness materials available for free all year. We’ll continue to publish information for you to read and share with others using social media.
Thank you for your wonderful efforts this month. We look forward to working alongside you for the other 11 months of the year.
