New Consultant Liverpool -Anyone looking for a new opinion

I finally got to see my new consultant yesterday. Professor Moots at Aintree Hospital Liverpool, he is a great clinician and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a new opinion, a second opinion or just wants fresh eyes on your case. He is open to questions, is fully prepared to accept that you know how you are feeling and what you are experiencing and is proactive in providing a plan for the way forward. Most importantly he listens and hears what you are saying. The whole rheumy team are supportive, friendly and accessible.

Hi,

It's like winning the lottery when you get a Consultant that listens and is advanced and well knowledged in Lupus. I know of Prof Moots via a friend of mine from SS clinic who goes to him and she also speaks very highly of the Prof. I have a Consult Dr Mewah from the RLH - he and the other teams within the hospital saved my life 17 months previous. Not only I am thankful to them all, but they also listen and allow me to question, especially the amount of med's that I have to take and I know that they have my best interests at hear. To get someone you trust and respect is a blessing.

We'll have to agree to disagree on RLH team that's the reason I moved and was desperate to find new consultant. I guess each to their own and you can't get along with everyone you meet in life.

Hi, I whole heartedly agree. Prof Moots is fantastic. It's the first time I have had a doctor not look at me and go oh no not you again. After 5 nearly 6 years its the first time that I actually unserstand some of the bloods that affect SLE. He seems to be the only Doctor that actually want s to find answers and that includes St Thomas althought they are fantastic.

Its really easy these days as patients have choice. Just go to your GP and request a second opinion. Ask to be referred to Professor Moots at Aintree. Any problems let me know and I'll give you contact details. Hope you get on OK
