Hello.Your symptoms could be fibromyalgia. Both lupus and fibromyalgia can have a massive, varied symptoms.
I have both fibro and SLE. My fibromyalgia is blamed for my bad chest and back pains that I get. Fibromyalgia also can cause all over pain, but so does SLE.
Your doctor will be able to run tests and diagnose you.
Best of luck.
Your Dr should order blood tests at the least. With Lupus you are usually ANA+ve and often show other abnormalities in your bloods. They should also listen very carefully to your symptoms.
Do you know what caused your pericarditis? Have you been retested to check if the inflammation has gone? I have it too, diagnosed by an echocardiogram and attributed to my Lupus. It still gives me chest pain and will do until my immune system is controlled better.
I think it is worth chatting through your chest pain, trying to be as specific as possible, is it worse with when walking? leaning backwards, what relieves it etc.
I had one Dr (whom I only saw once) try to say I had Fibromyalgia given my level of chest pain etc- even though I only scored 5 out of the 14 points needed for a diagnosis. Thank goodness she wasn't my consultant as I actually had, undiagnosed at the time, pericarditis and pleurisy. The treatment for Lupus and Fibromyalgia are very different so an accurate diagnosis is crucial. I am now on immunosuppresents.
I do so hope you have a successful appointment - do let us know how it goes if you feel able. x
Thank you and no I don't know what caused my dad has heart problems so I that it was something like that. I'm tired of being undiagnosed cause I get new symptom all the time. I will keep you updated thank you very much
I think it's really important that you ask and don't let anyone assume something. Sadly, I have learned that we have to ask, question and challenge. My mother had a quadruple bypass, but I don't have any of her heart related problems. I have low blood pressure etc but I do have Lupus and the pericarditis was the symptom that changed my diagnosis from UCTD to Lupus. I know it's hard but I really do think you need to question the cause? Was it treated?
Hello Rosie I went to my appointment yesterday and EKG was diagnosed with sinus Bradycardia
