Hi, I get major pain in my neck. I have sle and psoriac arthritis and unsure which causes it. I have days when my neck is so painful that I just have to prop my head up with cushions on the recliner sofa. I'm guessing its inflammation causing it.. You can get a 'collar' from your occ therapist for when its really bad, although make sure you don't keep it on for to long a period as your neck muscles still need moving however painful they are. I don't find anything that helps much with the pain but the only bonus is, is that it dosent seem to last forever. Like joint pain everywhere else it seems to hit a particualar joint very painfully for a good few weeks and then turn to a copeable ache until the next flare up.
Take care and hope your pain subsides soon x x
good morning. I have ha Lupus a long time and for me neck problem are part of the course. I have swellings on the side of my neck - usually the left side, full of fluid. I get rashes on it and sometimes it feels my neck just wants to be detached from my body, which in turn cause headaches. Everyone is different and each wonderful Lupus person will have different symptoms and also symtoms in common. I hope this helps and wish you luck.
Thankyou it dose help somtimes wonder if i just blame sle for everything but it dose sound as though it is the cause of it take care x
Yes I have had trouble with my neck for years, the muscles when it is bad I find accupuncture is great but waiting on the NHS takes is a long time. I paid in the end well worth it for pain relief. Good luck.
