I'm waiting for results of blood work to see if i can take Azathioprine.
Is anyone out there already taking this? I've had a reaction to 2 other lupus meds and just wondering if anyone has had side affects to it? Hope you are all feeling well on this cold wet Sunday xx
l was on azathioprine, and it made me really ill for a month, had to come off it,as my body could not tolerate it, went on to take methotrxate, and was fine on this, but l know lots of people who get on really fine with azathioprine, so its like all the drugs you have to give them a try.
Good Luck hope you get on fine, l am sure you will, keep in touch lets us know how you get on xxx

Hi, thanks for your reply s... Fingers crossed... take care xx
I've been taking azathioprene for over 10 years, it did take a while to get the right dose but once it was sorted I never had a bother with it. Until the docs decided to take me off it!
Hi, I was on Azathioprine for many years, my sister is on it at the moment also.it is a very commonly used drug. I never had any problems with it and neither has my sister. But I was changed to Mycophenalate Mofetil after my transplant which I think is a newer immunosuppressant meant to have less problems etc.
my doc cycled me up, it took almost 1 1/2 to get upto 200 mg a day i would start getting sick and infected, step back down, a dosage, but when i got over that bump in the road i would feel so good, the whole proccess was long, but is was so worth it
Hi all lots of mixed reactions to this med ..off to have my blood test to see if i have the right enzymes to take it... thank you all for your reply s its good to hear other views ....
