I’m reaching out for some help. I was diagnosed with SLE five years ago and have been seeing my rheumatologist regularly. My blood tests indicate that it’s well controlled, but I’m always exploring plant-based diets and multivitamins to aid my recovery. Some days I feel great, while others are tough.
I know broccoli is beneficial for lupus patients, and I've tried various recipes, like soups, but keeping it regular has been a challenge, and I've started to dislike the taste. Recently, someone suggested trying Broccoli Sprout Extract/Sulforaphane.
Has anyone tried it? I’d really appreciate any thoughts or experiences you could share.
Thanks alot

I haven’t tried it, but as far as I know, veggies are generally good for us and help support the immune system. Cruciferous veggies like broccoli are natural detoxers for the body too, so I can see why some people might be into it.
If you do try it, I would be interested to know the results!
Hi. If you have a healthy thyroid then I’d say it may be ok to try. The list of vegetables that give you the same benefits of broccoli is a long one though, so there is variety. Most lupus people are allergic to sulpha drugs so when I read about how the sulpha is processed with this supplement all I could think was I wouldn’t do it. Broccoli is good and food choices are important but you do have a whole bunch out there for variety!
