just tested positive for the first time .. do I need any extra medication these days via nhs due to lupus ?
Covid : just tested positive for the first time... - LUPUS UK
Covid
I was given the antivirals because I'm immunosuppressed 🌹
good morning Dressgirl52 🫶🏼
I was prescribed paxlovid due to being immunosuppressed and not going to lie; it saved my life!
I hope you’re not feeling too unwell, however we all know how nasty lupus can be. Best thing to do is definitely speak to your GP. You need to start antiviral medication within 5 days of symptom onset or positive test.
Drink plenty and as always; rest plenty and take care.
All the best x
I wish you luck. It depends on your level of Lupus. In my region I wasn't "eligible" this time for the booster vaccine, whereas I qualified for all the previous ones. Being only on Hydroxychloroquine does not mean my Lupus (if it is that - pharmacists words, not mine) qualifies according to the pharmacist I booked in with; yet via the NHS app, I keep getting reminders that I am, but only the pharmacist who refused me is on the list closest to me for administering the booster. I simply can't afford (in terms of time) to try the next pharmacist 20 mile's away in case they won't give it to me either. I've had it twice, the second time completely knocked me off my feet and I was fatigued for so long afterwards too. I just resign myself to the fact that it's out there, I no longer qualify. Maybe the once a year booster is enough together with the flu vaccine. I hope you only have Covid mildly 🙏
I had a message saying I was eligible but I didn’t have them the last few times I had Covid. I had it badly in 2020 and got long Covid so I could tell that it felt different and my body was managing. It was just like a cold so I decided I didn’t need them!
morning
Sorry to hear that , hope you are not feeling too unwell . I was given anti virals after contacting my go surgery within 4 days of being positive. I am sure they helped
Good luck
Take care
