Is this a Malar rash?

I get this rash usually after a shower. Is it a normal trigger for a malar rash (a shower) and does this look like one? Or is it just a red face. (I have a lot of lupus symptoms, just trying to connect all the dots)

Hi Alice2800 like you I have lots of Lupus symptoms and do have the rash which is worse after a shower

yes my GP thought it was rosaeca and gave me cream I'm worse when I have been in the sun

I used to get this too after a shower. Was given cream for rosacea but then the rheumatologist said it could be water induced urticaria. It happened for months but seems ok at the moment. I don't have lupus either but like you suspected I might as had a lot of the symptoms. At the time I had this I also lost an awful lot of hair, it came out in handfuls then spontaneously stopped - I never found out the reason for that.

I hope your rash stops too, but if not visit your GP and show the photo x

Interesting..well interesting isn't the right word....My almost 30 year old daughter gets a rash after her morning shower also..it fades during the day....Of course I worry about Lupus...I was Dx'd last September so I worry that all of my daughters have Lupus...I know unlikely for all 4, but I still worry... I do hope that Your rash isn't because of Lupus xoxo My best as you connect the dots

The shape looks like it. Especially with the redness over the bridge of your nose. I zoomed into to the photo and it looked like that was there?

Does it come out any other time? Heat seems to trigger a lot of folks rashes (as well as a host of other things). Do you take hot showers?

Yea it is on my nose when you zoom in! And I’m not sure, I need to wait and see when it’s sunny! I live in Scotland haha. Yea quite hot, I think the heat will have triggered it. I also get rashes in other places and itchy skin

I'm afraid that we are not medically qualified here and therefore cannot say whether your rash may be malar caused by lupus or something else. It is helpful to have photos of any rashes when discussing symptoms with your doctor though. Are you currently just under the care of your GP or are you also seeing a rheumatologist?

I saw this rash and I’ve been having the exact same one after showers and after being exposed to the sun! Did you ever find out if it was lupus if not what was it?
