hi everyone, does anyone have severe muscle pain, stiffness, and rendered immobile due to how painful this is? I’m ok if I don’t do too much but that’s a fine line.
it’s my first time experiencing it, I can’t take anti inflammatories due to lupus nephritis. Any advice I would be so grateful.

Yes. 100%. I have this, especially since covid. Prevention measures included doing stretches and Tai chi. Do the tai chi very gently as over doing it will over work your muscles and you'll be back to square one. I can recommend a dvd.
For muscle pain I take diazepam to help relax the muscles.
I used to get a significant amount of relief from pain by soaking my muscles and joints in an epsom salts bath as the magnesium is drawn into the skin and acts as a smooth muscle relaxant. Unfortunately I can no longer do this because of my own risk with uti.
Unfortunately when the pain comes, it comes and in my experience it's like my muscles have turned to wood and it also feels like my muscles are being pulled off my bones. It makes you want to go to bed, which in turn makes it worse because then your muscles atrophy and they need to be soft and flexible. So trying to do very slight gentle stretches is important.
I found ice packs on my arms, upper thighs and shin splints really helped.
It's important to remember that potassium levels can affect muscles as I am sure you are aware, so ensure that you know your potassium level. I avoid lots of sugar or any alcohol as it makes my inflammation worse.
I appreciate that you can't take NSAIDs, but can you use NSAIDs gel? I find it helps me. I have also found significant benefits from some brands of CBD creams and balms.
It's also worth noting that myalgia is a symptom of Covid. Have you done a Covid test recently to ensure that you haven't picked up the virus?
I've had a lot of experience unfortunately,!!😂. Seriously though, do try to keep moving even if it's hobbling around the house. The more you lay in bed, the more fluid is pulled and pools in your muscles and joints. Equally you must rest the painful muscles and joints. It's such a fine line. Best of luck!
