I hope you're all keeping as well as possible. I'm looking for some advice please: I have been spending a little bit of time in my garden (hat on and under my huge parasol) but I noticed last night in bed that my arms had a developed an unusual looking rash. I'll try to enclose a photo of it. It had lessened this morning (still there but not as prominent, so I assumed it was just a wee heat rash) but it came back very noticeably earlier whilst I was straightening my hair. I don't know if the heat caused it to come back. It's starting to settle again. I haven't felt my best over the last day or two, so I will certainly be staying indoors but I just wondered whether anyone else experiences rashes on their arms that come and go? I usually only get a flare on my face related to the sun.
Thank you so much x

Hi, I thought that was my arm when I saw the pic, suffering with Brian fog and long covid at the moment with chronic fatigue. But I was out in the sun Alot on Saturday and on Sunday I noticed that rather than tanning easily, I had red dots all over my arms, hands and legs. So was wondering if this is the start of lupus skin rashes for me. I had put factor 30 on, but only once. This is all new for me as only had Lupus a few years... I didn't burn, and it doesn't hurt.
But happy for any advise and yer the pics I took also didn't show the spots well
hello, I had the same situation about two weeks ago. Unusually careful about being in the sun. I try to minimize it to no more than 20 minutes if it’s after 11 AM, but there’s one time, I stayed about two hours under the sun, and it did it!
I would highly recommend you applying aloe gel, it works, wonders, especially if you have the plant, just squeeze the gel out, and apply it. You will feel immediate relief. Hope you feel well soon.
I love to garden, go walking etc but the only way that these things are possible when it's sunny, is if I wear proper sun protection clothing.
I buy long sleeve t shirts and shirts with a sun protection of factor 50 from an Australian company Solbari. It's a super easy process as they have a UK office for returns etc. I have a huge fabric hat from them too which is also factor 50 and folds easily into my handbags.
Throughout the year I use factor 50 suncream on my face and hands which is usually the only skin exposed, I also wrap silk scarves around my neck. It's all a giant bore but the sun is my nemesis and if I don't take these precautions I flare immediately.
The rash on my chest will actually open and bleed if I'm not suitably covered, sitting under a parasol just doesn't provide adequate protection for me, I make a point of only ever sitting in the shade with protection.
