Is it lupus

Hi, on feb 12th this year a small circular spot appeared on my neck then 2 weeks later I had 2 ring shaped legions on my neck so assumed it was ringworm but after 2 months of treatment it has only gotten worse (over the counter creams then prescription medication) so I am now awaiting blood results to rule out lupus before going down the psorisis route..someone pointed out about tumid lupus but there arent many puctured of the rash..I have added pictures of my rash to see if anyone thinks it looks like a typical lupus rash as I am at a loss at the moment as to what it is

ooh that’s exactly like the rashes I get that wrap around my wrists ! I’m not officially diagnosed with lupus but UCTD with scleroderma antibody

I’m sure one of the lovely forum friends can shed more light

I have had SLE for over 25years and this was my last rash I had a couple of years ago. This rash was like severe sun burn and was very itchy and painful. Looking at your rash doesn’t scream lupus to me but then I’m not a doctor. Sometimes the skin can react with a new fragrance you wear reacting with the sun or just an allergic reaction to something but again I’m no doctor. Go see a dermatologist and see what they think and hopefully it’s nothing to worry about.

Check with a doctor to be sure pics aren't always enough, tests and specialist diagnosis is always better

Hi Stephanie, it maybe worth asking for a dermatology referral too.. I have discoid lupus and it can look similar to yours. However, it was diagnosed by skin biopsy. I also have RA so my inflammatory markers are usually high anyway.

Sorry, keep an eye on it to see if it worsens in the sun. UV is a massive trigger x

Hi Stephanie 🤗Yes that looks like the type of rash I get. I was diagnosed with Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematous (SCLE) in 2017 by a dermatologist. There's a really good site called DermnetzNZ (not sure I've spelt that right) There are loads of skin rashes on there so u can match your rash so to speak.

Taking pics is good and also keep a diary of any symptoms regarding your general health too. Keeping out of the sun is important.

I'll try n post a pic of my leg but I do get it all over my back too. 💜🌈Xx

angel thanks so much for posting as that’s just like mine . I’m so sorry it’s pants 🩲 😞. Also said it was ringworm for me .. gave me some cream to keep in fridge made it worse. Dermanz awesome site apparently the consultants at A and E use it and gps .

It doesn’t look quite like the Lupus rash I’ve had, or should I say that I have as it never goes away completely now. But, it needs to be investigated so that you do know what it is and get appropriate treatment x
