Hi I had my hip , and I was fine , sailed through it really , you need a chair that you don’t struggle to get out of, that’s half the battle , hope you get on ok let us know how you are x
Think Positive, STAY STRESS FREE before SURGERY to lessen Flares - Relax,
“Talk to Rheumatologist” to get them onboard with the SURGEON- to be prepared for any issues you could have verses others w/out Lupus.
Give yourself time to heal & if Surgery causes a FLARE, call rheumatologist to get possibly a short ROUND of Predisone (30 days & wean down slowly) to help healing & FLARE.
Resources below GREAT to GUIDE you on your journey to a great Recovery 💜😊💜

Hi , I had my knee replacement in 2016, unfortunately mine did not work , along with my LUPUS I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA , for me this was the problem , you only have a 6 week window to work on your physio recovery , and because my knee was like an elephants I was unable to do all the physio , so I am restricted in knee movement , but for many people with Lupus it worked.
I would maintain pain relief so as to do the physio ,that will benefit you with your recovery.
I find if my knee swells , bag of peas helps , 20 minutes only couple times a day.
I wish you well with your op
Take care 😊
I’ve had both hips done - just try to make sure you are as healthy and fit as possible before the surgery in whatever way you can.
Afterwards do everything the physios tell you and then slowly build up your walking. Good luckx
Thank you
