My younger sister has recently been diagnosed with SLE and retinal vasculitis. As it’s very new to her, we are trying to adhere to any do’s and don’ts for her condition. She recently had gel nails done, forgetting about the need to not be exposed to UV rays, and is panicking about a flare up. It’s been over two weeks now - does anyone have any experience of anything similar?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Gooner786, I have not been aware of difficulties with the UV rays but the real problems I have had with gel nails is infections. If you are on immunosuppressants, in my experience, the nail can turn green and it can take months for the damaged bubbled nail to grow out.
