Hi all,

Still fighting to get any support even though it has been confirmed I have lupus!

I now have started to get giant boils in my groin and armpit. Does anyone else get these?

Sorry about the graphic image 😞 I am in so much pain and all my neck glands are up too.

You need to see GP urgently.Probably it will need draining and definitely antibiotics.

Oh bless you that looks so very painful. I agree you need a GP appointment ASAP to get antibiotics. Gentle hugs xx

Aaargh…they really hurt! Urgent need of appropriate attention!

I had two when I was young, undiagnosed with anything, and probably very Vitamin D deficient. They were in the ‘groin’…well, actually worse than that! I can only surmise that there’s a lot going on here nutritionally, and whilst no expert, after you’ve been to your GP and got the immediate issue sorted, I would also see if you can get some bloods done to ascertain the back story. There is a school of thought that indicates antibiotic treatment without bringing the boil to a head and then lancing may not be the best thing…(you don’t want to know about my 1970’s, sob-inducing, bedsitter DIY horror - it was dangerous!)…This used to be the old family doctor method: poultice; draw; lance; iodine. But if you haven’t already sought medical attention, you must do asap, as the infection may move into your lymph system.

Well been to dr’s and it has been partially squeezed and was green and bloody 🤮. It’s gone down a bit and got antibiotics and had a swab. I have another appointment next week incase it doesn’t go. That will then mean theatre and to incise it. Such fun and games we have!

P.S. Looked again at your pic… you are shaving your underarms? Just occurs to me that you need to get this looked at pronto in case you’ve put anything in there via shaving. You know what? I’d give up on the shaving….

Prevent infection by using healing, soothing antiseptic cream eg Savlon, Germolene etc.

You might need prescribed steroid lotion to damp down the inflammation!

Germs get in via broken skin!

Get yourself to A&E!

Hidradenitis suppurativa can produce boils etc and is seen in Autoimmune conditions. Dermatologist and Gp would be able to help. Good luck
