Hello G

I had both on Saturday. Sunday was not great, but just the typical post-jab malaise - aching, flu-ey feeling, bit of a headache. Today (Monday), I'm very tired and have a sore arm, but basically OK. I expect to be back to "normal" by the end of the week. x

Just thinking with common sense and since the Covid19 vaccines are so new, it seems that it would be “best” to WAIT 30 days between Vaccines.

If you have any “bad reactions” to either as they change the ADJUVANTS in Flu Vaccines & update Covid19 Vaccines to keep up with each viral strain, it could become a problem to determine WHICH VACCINE caused an allergic reaction, or higher than normal “down time” or lupus “trigger” after a Vaccine Injection.

I will be researching more as WE ALL learn more. I know Autoimmune Immune patients that have adverse reactions to the pneumonia Vaccine - so taking each separately makes logical sense to know your personal reactions.

Had mine separately. Have been feeling rough this last week or so. Makes sense now as i had the flu jab a week ago. Have now put 2+2 together. Thanks for the info re the pneumonia vaccine though. Looking forward to that one!

With some quick research, the information coming from “experts” says it’s OK to take together.

But CREAKY JOINTS says it would be beneficial for a 30 separate injection- Flu Season usually is later(but cases are here now).

Also, I read some reports of PEOPLE w/Autoimmune that did not do well taking at the same time.

We ALSO have to remember to space ANY VACCINES between BIOLOGICS, chemo drugs, etc. (2 wks before & 2 wks after Vaccine).

I had both at the same time last month...covid in left arm flu in right arm.like whisperit i had a headache and felt abit achy for a couple of days. As someone who is immunosuppressed id rather sit in a busy clinic only once. Xx

I’ve just had the two jabs and I can honestly say I haven’t had any side effects this time, not even a sore arm, the last time I had the two I had a sore arm and flu type feelings but nothing this time.

I have RA on rituximab. Had both vaccines on Friday shivery for a couple of hours in evening, a bit more tired than usual but basically fine. Now I don’t have to worry about jabs til the new year.

Hi ,

I did see people getting both the last time when I had my Covid jab . I was not impressed!

as an auto immune person I (My personal opinion )would prefer to take it separately than take it together. (you dont know what reactions you will get ) or may be no actual reaction.

So , I took my flu jab 2 weeks before taking my Covid jab . had slight reaction (not to sure if it is or not ) but was very tired and sleepy and achy in a lot of pain a over body I really did not feel well 2 days after the jab.

This is the first ever time I had actually had reaction to a Covid jab. I have never had any response reaction to any jab before .

I had Pfizer jab.

I had both same time this time last year - no bad reactions although was tired with v sore arms both sides. I was given the option on spacing them apart but as v immunesuppressed I didn’t want to go back to vaccine centre again.

It was my 3rd Covid jab and first Pfizer (vaccines 1 and 2 were Astra) and I didn’t stop my Mycophenolate for the first 3.

However I stopped MMF for Covid vaccines 4 and 5 for a week after (both Pfizer) and was really unwell with fluey feeling and fever in bed next day. Had 5th in May (Pfizer) and stoped MMF again - next day or day after had vertigo all day which I’m not prone to.

My thoughts are that reaxtions were either about stopping Mycophenolate or more likely about the time interval between them being only 3 months apart - too soon for my body to cope?

This 6th plus flu will be 5 months apart and I’m not stopping MMF this time. I have to have both because I’m in hospital for 3 days having infusions 9 days later and want to be fully vaxed first.

l had mine separately but that was my choice. Astra Zenica l was really unwell for months, Pfizer (2) no side affects apart from a bit of fatigue, Moderna l was fatigued for a weeks, l had the flu jab 2 weeks ago and was fine l didn’t even get a sore arm, so for me l chose not to have the vaccines at the same time.

Hi OldTed.ive had all 6 covid vaccines and never stopped taking my mmf for any of them. Good luck with infusion 🤗 xxx

thanks so much - yes another MCTD/ SSc friend found that she reacted much less to the two recent vaccines after not stopping MMF or Pred so 🤞🏻

I’m currently reacting horrifically with either Steven Johnson Syndrome or Pemphigus Vulgaris following latest infusions of immunoglobulins - so just can’t even think about the vaccines I’m due end of this month, nor about getting Covid19 on top.

But I’m hoping to start Rituximab in the near future so definitely need to knock the vaccines on head asap I guess. X

Im not due mine until Sunday. I had both last year, felt flu like and joints were sore for a few days. I only really noticed "a flare" after my 4th vaccine which was a lot worse than the double jab. Sunday will be my 6th vaccine so im hoping it'll be plain sailing 🤞🤞

Had both same time. No effect at all.

I had both at the same time in the same arm (my other arm has a 40+ year old BCG jab which has been 'active' since I started with lupus so that arm is always avoided - nobody ever wants to do anything about it, mind you, so I don't know how long it's going to go on. Anyway, that's another story). Felt like I'd been hit by a bus the following day and was a bit breathless on and off for the week afterwards but seem to be back to 'normal' (in lupus terms) now.

I reacted badly to my 4th and 5th Covid jab, spent two days in bed with temperature, shivers, aches and pains, no appetite etc so really don’t want to mix the two. We are going to our local chemist on Friday for our jab so won’t be busy thankfully. Will go back there for our flu jab too in a few weeks.

Hi, I only tool the covid one. I will get the flu later. I have found that I was in bed after each covid injection so the nurses recommended take one at a time. I was not unwell with this one but I did have a sore arm which is quite normal..

I’ve had 4 Pfizer jabs with no I’ll effect BUT any other form of vaccination over the years made me very unwell which is how my autoimmune was discovered. I wouldn’t have the flu injection for that reason. I have 2 autoimmune friends who are poorly after flu and Covid jabs - interestingly they were given a mixture of the Modena and Pfizer - just follow your instincts- we know more about our bodies with this awful illness than any “expert”

Despite huge numbers of jabs for flu and covid NEVER EVER FORGET about the importance for strict shielding from viruses, bacteria etc:

* Wash hands frequently!

* Lots of fresh air in the house!

* Mask up in enclosed spaces!

*Social distancing is important and avoid kissing!

*Disinfect surfaces frequently!

* Pay strict attention to personal hygiene. Ventilate rooms after social gatherings!

Makes sense but????

had one in each arm, the flu one was worst, had about two weeks of flare and joint pain, as I have to leave off my metho injections too, but now ok xx

Yes I had both on the same day nearly 2 weeks ago. I had the flu jab in my left arm and the Covid booster in my right arm. I felt tired for for a few days and felt as if a cold was coming on, but no headaches this time around. The soreness from the flu jab went much quicker than the soreness from the booster. I also had a physio appointment on the same day, so triple whammy.
