My right wrist is quite swollen, painful and yes, it does look a bit deformed. I frequently use a wrist support. An ultrasound showed inflammation, so I'm starting methotrexate sometime soon.
Yes I had an ultrasound etc and that's why they put me on methotrexate too. Too soon to tell if it's working but here's hoping as its extremely agonising on a daily basis. Tubigrips and wrists supports at least stop them from shattering so that's good.
Yeah I have terrible problem with my left wrist. Looks twice the size of the right one. I've had steroid injections on two different occasions, which lasts a few months. I also did a self referral to physio, and the hand therapist made a strap for me that is brilliant, better than the ones you can buy. I'm sure to go and have an operation to remove a bone in my thumb, to hopefully help with the pain there, and carpal tunnel operating at the same time, to hopefully stop the pins and needles, and numbness I get in my fingers.
Hope this helps x
