Lupus rash?
Hi Lauramonty, I am using the same cream from the dermatologist. I had what was thought to be shingles, as it appeared only on the right side of my face and followed the nerve pathway. Took Aciclovir for a week and thought that was it but then the rash appeared on the left side. Also felt very fatigued and achy . My rheumy didn't think it was Lupus related so sent me to derm. He gave me Fucudin H cream for 2weeks followed by Eumovate. Most of the rash has gone now, except for one stubborn spot from the original outbreak. I still don't really know what it was and bloods came back normal. Feeling a bit better over the last couple of days. Using cream very sparingly and also Factor 50 sunscreen whenever I go out of the house. Hope it works for you too xx
Morning, I use this regularly for my skin condition. I have the ointment version which is oily but I feel more lubricating for very dry crusty areas. You have been prescribed the cream version. I find it helpful and effective used in conjunction with my steroid tablets.
Hope this helps.
I too have been prescribed this for outbreaks of itch and rash on mu face and chest . . . to be used sparingly, but I have found it does work, if not always as quickly as I'd like. My dermatologist told me the order goes: lotion (nice but does little) - cream - ointment (with ointment being the most powerful) so if necessary, you can go up a level.
Yes I have Eumovate in ointment form. It's a mild steroid and I'm prescribed it for delicate areas with stronger ointments for other bits. Hope you get some relief with it..but if not as others have said you've got other options.Use it very sparingly and only on affected skin. 🌈😽😽Xx
I was given 4 small tubes of dermovate to control my rash. I had only to use it for two weeks, it did help but a few bits came back, don’t want to use it too much, most of mine is in my scalp, shoulders and back and my forehead.
Hi I have it too for general itchyness.
Eumovate is just one of many milder TOPICAL corticosteroids available for various inflammatory, itchy, red and painful SKIN conditions found in DLE lupus, vasculitis etc.
They all vary in terms of potency. I was prescribed Dermovate, Betametanethasone, Eumovate etc etc until my red lupus rashes spread all over my back so that the only thing to calm it all down was systemic 😱Prednisolone tablets from 40 mg/day down to 5mg/2days now.
