I have just been given a shingles vaccine it’s a new vaccine that hasn’t been out for very long and isn’t live apart from a sore arm and a day of feeling really tired no other side affects 🤞has anybody else had it. gp said anybody with lupus shouldn’t have live shingles vaccine

HelloI didn’t get the shingles shot because I already had shingles in 2013 two weeks after my mother died. My GP also said autoimmune folks should never get live vaccines.

Good morning. even though you have had shingles you can still get it again my gp went through it with me. the new vaccine which isn't live can be given for people with dodgy immune systems and can be given if you have already had shingles. my vaccine was ordered in for me.

I just finished getting the series of shingles vaccines. In the USA we now use Shingrix. My rheumatologist said it was safe for me to take even having lupus. I had a very sore arm for a few days, but nothing else. I’ve already had shingles three times and didn’t want to make it four.

That’s the one l had it was out in US long before we got it here in the U.K.

You can get it but hopefully it won’t be as severe
