I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this notice as large as you like on the forecourt roof of this garage in Hermannsburg, N.T., Australia. 😳
Once I got over my surprise I couldn’t help thinking how true the words are, and having lost a friend’s father to a drunk driver on the wrong side of the road, I totally agree with it and could add a few extra strong words. 🤬
Sorry it isn’t a funny notice, like most of my others, but it is the last one of my small collection and carrying a strong message I thought it still worth sharing.
Hoping you all have a bonza weekend, with a great barbie, but don’t drink and drive because if you do you know what you are. 😉
Love and hugs to everyone. 🤗😍 Spotty xxx

You are very welcome SV. 😁 I’m so pleased you’ve enjoyed them and having given me the thumbs up I’ll keep an eye open for any more amusing signs in the future. Take care and enjoy your weekend. 🤗😘🙏🏻 xx
There’s nothing like a good laugh Cecily. 👍🏻👍🏻 What did you see as I could do with a good laugh myself. Have you watched the series called Ghosts? I love it and so does hubby so we watched it on iPlayer, an episode a night just before going to bed so we were in an upbeat mood before falling asleep.😊 Sadly we’ve finished that series now so will have to wait impatiently for the next one. 🙂
It was called Free Guy with the gorgeous Ryan Reynolds and the legend that is Jodie Cromer ( Killing Eve) It is all about computer games which woukd not normally be my thing but the special effects, humour and human interest made it really fabulous. Rotten Tomatoes scored it at 95% success. The last film we saw was Fast and Furious 9. We laughed so hard at that too and my goodness the action scenes were incredible and the best thing Vin Diesel was back. Do you have Netflix? If so Dead to Me is funny xxx
I’ll keep an eye out for Free Guy as it sounds good fun. 👍🏻👍🏻 We don’t have Netflix but do use iPalyer and have AppleTV. Just been watching ‘Call the Midwife’ from series 1 episode 1 and loved it! So reminiscent of our early childhoods in the 1950s and growing up in the 60s. We’ve caught right up to date so waiting for the Christmas Special this year followed by a new series staring in January. And then we moved onto Missing which is much darker but cheered ourselves up with Ghosts afterwards. Last episode of Missing tonight (series 1) so will have to find something else uplifting to follow. Thanks for the suggestions Cecily 👍🏻👍🏻 - we’ll see what we can find. 🤗😘 xx
Line of duty is a great watch, during lockdown we watch all this back series ready today latest new series which was brilliant. The body guard is also a good watch and we also love ghosts😄
Yes, we’ve really enjoyed Line of Duty too and considered The Body Guard but ended up watching Call the Midwife instead. It is lovely to binge watch these programmes and really get immersed in them. Glad you love Ghosts too. 👍🏻 Alison of course was also one of the midwives in Call the Midwife. Brilliant programmes. 🥰xx
My niece was only 18 when she was left in a brain 🧠 dead condition by a drunk driver. She still exists in this vegetable state and her 45th birthday was August 5th.
We are constantly reminded how idiotic drunk driving IS especially since the drunk driver survived with only a slight scratch to her forehead.
I pray no one else has to live through such a tragedy as ours.
What a shocking tale EJ. My heart goes out to your family and to your poor niece who has lived all these years not being the person she should have been. And the driver only had a scratch? It was the same with the drunk who had a head on crash with my friend’s father who died on the way to hospital. The drunk driver is in prison for dangerous driving and Jessie’s family received compensation for the loss of her Dad. But no amount of money is compensation for the loss of a loved one, and really you have lost your poor niece too. I’m so sorry EJ and as I said earlier I have even stronger words to add to the notice including the words selfish, uncaring and others interspersed with some good Aussie adjectives.😉 Take care EJ. 🤗😘💖xxx
Oh thanks so much for your sympathies and love Spotty 🥰.
Yes we all keep prepared for the notice of her passing as hard as this will be she will finally be released from one foot on earth and one in the afterlife.
Ironically the drunk driver got away with this tragic crime.
She complained about her scratch possibly ruining her modeling chances.
She never really cared about the life she’d taken or the impact on her family and boyfriend who was deeply in love with my niece and heartbroken about her fate.
I get angry whenever I hear about habitual drunk drivers with 20 + arrests and no true punishment for any of the cases.
Thanks again for your support and love.
Please take care of yourself. You are always in my thoughts and prayers hun.
It is indeed a tragedy and torture for all of your family to have to see your niece in this half-alive state for so many years. And what a heartless selfish and narcissistic driver who put your poor niece in this state. It is infuriating when they get away with it. You will always have my love and support when needed EJ. I’m so pleased it helps in some small way in what you and your family have to face every day.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers Honey, always very much appreciated.
Take good care of yourself and know you are in my prayers too.
Oh my word! I quote this all the time, I’m sure I heard it as part of a campaign on the radio when I was in Australia on holiday in the late 90s / early 00s. It’s so nice to know my brain didn’t just invent it. The football team I support has just got an Aussie manager and he exudes this attitude to playing football (and dealing with press conferences.) I love it. Thank you for confirming I’m not entirely mad.
🤣🤣 I’m glad the post has reassured you that you didn’t imagine it. No, having grown up in Australia I know they don’t mince their words, and why should they? It is a very improtant issue and the message needs to be driven home (excuse the pun) as often and as strongly as possible. Take care.🤗😘xx
Yes it was the tag line of a very successful drink driving campaign here in Oz during those years. As a preteen/teenager growing up hearing it everywhere it became embedded in our minds. It must've worked because our drink driving incidents and fatalities dropped considerably during those years and still even now.
It makes the point though doesn’t it… and the types of ignorant people who do drink and drive ……..don’t like to be called idiots ….so it might…. just might hit home.
I certainly hope so too AC. 🙏🏻 Although sadly some of them are SO selfish they don’t care what others think as long as they can do what they like. Take care AC. Xx
I love how straight to the point it is. My best friend is Australian and boy some of the things she says are priceless but it’s brilliant. Thanks for posting and take care. XX
Glad you liked it Froggie.👍🏻👍🏻 Having grown up in Australia I know how blunt and to the point they can be, but I think it is brilliant too. There is no room for misunderstandings as you are left in no doubt what is meant. 😆 You take care too Froggie. 🤗xx
