This week's pic is of a Clydesdale foal called Rowan in Scotland. This breed is on the 'at risk' register so this youngster is particularly special.
Another 'at risk ' horse breed is the Suffolk Punch and for those who saw last week's Countryfile will know that Adam's prized mare Lexie had her foal, a colt which also looked very cute with his mum. Its lovely to think there are these people who want to keep these breeds going.
I hope you'll like the positive news that comes with this pic and are all coping with the sun/heat as best you can.

Hope you are coping with the summer heat! Thanks - going to get out for lunch with a friend today. It may be my last for a while. Monday starts the hardest part of this process.
🍤🥗🍷🍰 - going to enjoy in the spirit of this cute pony!
Do hope you have a good time kay🧏♀️. Will be willing you on monday and all next week , hoping its not as bad as first feared!. Its wonderful you'll keep this little pony in mind!. Xx🤞🐴❤🤞🐴❤🤞🐴❤🤞🐴❤🤞🐴❤🤞🐴
Lovely photo. I live in Scotland and when I was a child would sometimes go to country fetes or fairs with my Gran. On occasions there would be Clydesdale horses at them. They really are beautiful animals and so sad they are at risk. Hope you are well. Xx
Hi ge, so pleased you liked this week's pic. Your story is interesting as well because Rowan was snapped in West Lothian Scotland. Is that near you?. Must have been lovely going to the shows. The Clydesdale maybe is a Scottish breed?. I don't know enough about horses.
It is sad they are on this 'at risk' register like the Suffolk Punches but in some ways its good they've been highlighted. perhaps a lot more farmers will want to breed them to keep them going like Adam does on his Cotswold Farm!.
I live a bit farther North but Lanarkshire is less than two hours away by train. The Clydesdale is a Scottish breed. It is named after its area of origin, The Clydesdale, or valley, of the river Clyde. We are all keeping well and staying safe. Xx 🐴
You can tell ge i did well at geography at school. Haha!. Thanks for the lovely info and nice to think your not too far away from Rowan the foal. He will grow up to be a handsome Clydesdale!. I hope you have a good week ge and keep safe. Xx🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤
Now that is super cute ❤️😍❤️😍 🐴 hope you’re coping Helen, sorry I’ve not been in touch, this cold has really knocked me for six and making me feel really rough, I haven’t forgotten though . Any news on your appointment yet? 😘💕🌺xxx
Hi dianne, im sorry the cold has knocked you for six. Kids bugs are much more virulent and they don't go with these illnesses. I do hope you feel better soon. Don't even think about emailing me till you feel better lovely.
No appt news and i feel less confident now learning we're officially in the 3rd wave. Our hospital will just stop in case of lots of admissions again.
Im coping with all the pain and glad ive got 1st july foot follow up as i may be developing something they warned me could happen. More nerve pain!. Foot is healing so well and ive reduced to 5mg steroids successfully!. Thanks for even thinking about it.
TAKE CARE lovely and be better soon. Big hugs.Xx🌺❤🐴🌺❤🐴🌺💐🐴❤
Thank you Helen🥰 yes this cold virus is a really nasty one and the girls have had a rotten time with stomach bugs this week too, I’m staying well clear until we’re all better! I’m so sorry you still haven’t heard anything but well done for getting down to 5mg, I know it’s not easy. I really hope you’re not getting nerve pain, gosh you’ve had such a tough time getting this far and done so well, let’s hope it’s just where the nerves are all healing ❤️🩹🙏 I’m sure you’ll be glad to get your foot appointment to get checked out and some advice.
I have everything crossed for you 🤞my lovely, thinking of you.
Please take care and I hope the hospital don’t cancel things, hopefully with the vaccines the NHS won’t become over run like the last times…I think we live in a permanent state of hope don’t we 😣🙄🙏
Thank you so much dianne for your lovely message. Im so sorry your all suffering with nasty bugs. I do hope your cold gets better soon. Its harder in the summer having these things somehow specially when its hot!.
I do need the surgeon's advice and they warned me i could develop this neuroma. Im so grateful the appt isnt long to wait now . As you rightly say lets hope its all to do with the healing . Its definitely nerve because its similar sensations like my right leg. At least i have a pair and they don't feel left out!. Ugh!. 🤣
I hate wishing the phone would ring. I thought i could let go a bit. We certainly are having to live in a perpetual state of hope dianne. !. As you rightly say this time the vaccines should keep people out of hospital and they can run normally. 🙏.
Do hope you all feel better this week. Thinking of you all.
Im going to see a friend this week i havent seen in 2 years!. What a catch up and treat which will help take my mind off things.
Oh Helen I am sorry you’re experiencing more nerve pain again😖😞. Fingers crossed for your appointments, I hope it eases and isn’t anything long term 🤞
What a lovely treat that will be to see your friend and have a good catch up, 2 years is a long time, have a lovely time and have a piece of cake for me 😉 🍰 ☕️
Hello dianne, thank you for your lovely message and kind thoughts. I hope you are all feeling better now , its miserable being that poorly in summer!.
I didnt go for coffee and cake today as my friend had to postpone. She didnt feel well and didnt want to give me anything so we'll try again when shes better. Very disappointing and ironic really as i ended up today doing much more walking at home helping my parents than i would have done seeing my friend!. I definitely feel foot is nerve problem because of the symptoms im getting. Walking is very painful again. Just can't wait to see surgeon next thursday now!.
We've had some carpets cleaned so rooms had to be cleared!. Its made such a difference though so we're knackered but pleased tonight!. We'd been going to do it for ages and things got in the way!. 😀
Still waiting for hospital to ring!. Its like being in a perpetual nightmare that you can't get out of.
Only be in touch lovely when you feel more up to it. Take care and big hugs. Xx🌺❤🌺💐🙏💐🤞❤🌺❤💐🙏
So pleased you liked him tjo. Im glad im helping keep positivity and interest going on this lovely forum. Do hope you have a good week and keep looking as i try to do different pics each week.Xx❤🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤
Lovely picture Misty 😍 and fabulous news with it. 👍🏻 Thank goodness we have folk willing to invest in keeping these ‘at risk’ breeds going. Rowan is gorgeous and a sturdy looking foal as you would expect from a working horse breed like the lovely Clydesdale.Sun? Heat? Not in the south of Scotland I’m afraid. Well a little sun but no heat waves here - lovely and cool which is the way I like it. I hope you are coping Misty and thanks again for the lovely post. 🤗😘xx
Hello spotty, thank you for your lovely replies. I couldn't agree more about the breeds and positive work thats happening to keep them going. Adam from Countryfile is specially involved in this work as his dad set up a rare breeds register that he and his sister are keeping going.
I specially appreciated your post for cheering us up spotty as i think ive developed a neuroma after my foot op. Its so painful walking that im no better off and they did warn this could happen. Luckily i have my surgical review on 1st july and they did say they can 'sort it'. I think podiatry could help too and im still waiting for their appt and the pain clinic too!.
Will be in touch this week spotty. Take care yourself too. Glad your out and about more. Keep safe. Xx🐴❤🐴❤
Yes, Adam is an exceptional farmer as I recall from when we used to watch Countryfile ourselves - never seem to have the time these days. It is wonderful that he and his sister are following in their father’s footsteps and let’s hope their children will keep it going too.🤞I’m so sorry to hear about your suspected neuroma Misty. From what I can gather that is incredibly painful. I hope it isn’t long until you have an appt with podiatry and the pain clinic🙏🏻 otherwise you’ll have to wait 11 more days until your surgical review - a long time if you are in pain. 😫 You are in my thoughts and prayers Misty. 🤗😘xx
Thank you spotty for your lovely thoughts. My toe was very painful so im kind of used to it but it certainly isnt the outcome i should be having. Im taking oxycodone which is getting me thru. 11 days isn't too long when you've done 2 years. Im so relieved ive got the actual surgical appt as these other ones are not forthcoming yet and i can't chase them!. 🤞 i get the call this week. More to follow this week dear spotty. Take care too. Xx🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤🐴
Thank you so much. The fatigue monster has caught me this week. I have slept and slept and slept. Sooo frustrating but I have learned that you cannot beat it. Big Cwtches to you lovely. I hope your toe is continuing to feel better xxx
So sorry cecily the fatigue monster has got you now. I hope he lets go soon as thats horrid but your doing yourself a lot of good by sleeping extra!. Its got to help the repair process!.
Im glad ive got my surgical review on 1st july as ive got new pain under my foot where op was and they warned me this could happen and they could fix it!. So disheartening as walking still hard and painful. Toe is healing so beautifully. Theres always something with us isnt there?.
Oh no!, I am so very sorry that you have a new source of pain. Bless you that foot is causing you so much grief. I hope they can fix it for you. Please let me know how you get on xxx
Thank you so much cecily for your lovely message and thoughts. I will let u know how my appt goes. Fingers crossed it will be helpful. I hope you feel better very soon and get good news about your knee. Xx
Fun and frolics from this little baby!Enjoying the sunshine whilst not knowing how special she is. Lovely pic Misty thanks for posting this weeks cutie very uplifting! 🐴❤️🤗😘🤗
So pleased you liked it horsewhisper. Its wonderful how he doesnt know how special he is. I do hope you are processing things better after a shock and you have a better week. The steroids wont take too long to make a difference. I do hope you will be able to keep riding.
Thank you so much for your lovely thoughts pumpkin. You are so kind. Oxycodone will get me thru to july 1st and not walking too much!. Not how it should be after my op by now!.
So pleased you liked Rowan and all he stands for. Do hope you have a good, safe week too. Xx🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤🐴❤
