I've had some recent blood results ..
Borderline positive dsDNA and positive Ro60 antibody. Not sure exactly what this means, I've got a face to face appointment next. Is this normal? Or? Sorry if I sound silly, I have no idea.

Hi Orange. This is not normal. Could be lupus, could be sjogrens, could be nothing. All depends on what your other labs look like and what your symptoms are. Diagnosis of connective tissue diseases are made based on both lab criteria and physical maladies.
If you’re having symptoms, make sure to write them down. Take any pictures of rashes or weird things you may have been noticing lately. That way when you have your face to face appt, you don’t miss any concerns.
Nothing to be alarmed about yet. Hopefully your appt will provide you with more clarity and reassurance. Sending hugs. ❤️xx
Hi Orange9,
Welcome to the LUPUS UK HealthUnlocked Community. We offer a free information pack that you can download or request at lupusuk.org.uk/request-info....
dsDNA antibodies are very specific in people with lupus, as they are not typically seen in any other condition or in healthy population, however only approximately 60% of people with SLE will test ‘positive’. Therefore if someone is positive for these antibodies, it often means they have lupus, but if they are negative it does not necessarily mean they do not have lupus. For more information, you can read our blog article on ‘getting a diagnosis of lupus’ here: lupusuk.org.uk/getting-diag.... The article discusses what will happen when you see a rheumatologist which you may find helpful to read before your appointment.
