I was wondering if anyone has or is experiencing the feeling of swollen eyes. When I’m looking in the mirror I can’t see anything noticeably different however the back of my eye (normally the left) is so painful, and feels swollen as if it’s the muscles or something.

Hi MaggieCrow I get swollen eyes every morning and they are painful like you describe during the day . You describe it really well .
Wouldn’t hurt to book opticians appointment to check it out ?
I was prescribed drops for sjgorens but don’t make much difference.
Nicest thing I ever used (you’ve reminded me to buy one again ) is an eye pack that goes in the microwave to heat up . You place it over your eyes for 10 minutes and it feels bliss . Think I bought from optician .
I get what I describe as inflammation in the eyes, they are tired and burning, looks like I’ve eyeliner on when I haven’t..I get drops but they don’t help much. I always think this is an indicator of a flare can last a week most times. I have sensitive eyes in the sun ☀️, or even bright lights. I put lamps on at night in the home, can’t cope with spotlights. It’s gett worse so I’ll definitely mention it to my consultant the next time x
Same here, do you get headaches or migraines? I ask because I do and my neurologist prescribed migraine medication and it's helped my eye pain (sometimes it feels like gremlins are stabbing me in the back of my eye). I still get swollen eyes due to sjogrens and lupus, BUT I am getting about 25% relief from eye pain and I will take any relief I can get.
I'm with tiggywoos - book an optrician to check you're eyes - inside out. Lupus and medications can sometimes mess with the eyes a bit - good to get things checked out.
Hi, I have been getting problems with my eyes too. I suffer from dry eyes and have regime in place. Warm eye mask, cleanse eyelids with optase (antibacterial cleanser) and then eye drops. I have tried a few brands and think I found one that suits me. I also got pain that felt like muscle pain around the eye. Feels better after using drops but it could be the immune response if you have autoimmine disease and may need medication to keep your symptoms at bay. Please see an optician. They now have advanced equipment (OTC scan) to check the health at back of the eye. Boots offer this scan.
