Amalgam fillings

I read your posts and recognize so many of my symptoms. My body doesn't detox itself of heavy metals and I am convinced this has been the cause of my problems. I have 16 amalgam fillings. I would really like to know if others experience mouth ulcers, sore mouth, lips and esophagus who have fillings along with all the other lupus symptoms.

Thank you for your reply. I have considered having the fillings removed but I see you say it is dangerous to do so. Have you been advised not to have them removed. I can't find anyone that will advise me one way or the other. I was also wondering whether steroids would stop the inflammation they cause although my doctor is against me taking steroids. It's very difficult to know what to do for the best.

As you say to get them removed safely will cost a great deal of money especially as I have 16 of them. I have tried the NHS route but they won't even see me. I think I may be stuck with them too. My anxiety levels are extremely high at the moment so doing anything seems impossible. Do you take medication that reduces the effect of the vapour damaging your body?

I changed all mine thinking it would help but didnt feel any difference. Im not regretting all the work. It feels better at least mentally to not have amalgam fillings.

I'm sorry to hear it hasn't helped you. Did you have mouth ulcers and sore red lips, mouth and throat before they were removed and do you still get this since they were removed?

Only sporadically mouth sores. I was hoping it would help with overall lupus symptoms. I still sporadically have mouth sores

I have Behcets disease and constantly have acute mouth ulcers! I had all my amalgam flings removed and felt so much better initially. But sadly ulcers returned with a vengeance! That may not happen to you though! A specialist dentist has to remove them!
