My partner has Lupus. We have tried several diets, and we have found that her symptoms and side effects are lessened depending on what we eat and drink! We have found that A2 milk instead of regular milk has made a real difference. Also cutting out sugar almost completely has reduced a significant amount of the symptoms. The only reoccurring symptoms she has is a tightness in the chest. Like someone very light is sitting on her. Would love to hear suggestions of foods to try to reduce flares and other things. Any amazing deserts would be a preference! I have no idea!

Hello BlueDandruff. I went on the autoimmune protocol three years ago as I am highly reactive to foods. Basically it's a combo of meat, fish and vegetables. Sounds boring, right? Well it involves a lot of cooking and creativity, and you can make desserts out of the above.
However, some people have reported amazing results from going vegan.
One of the lupus bottom lines is going gluten free. I can definitely understand the sugar thing. I keep that down or replace it with low glycemic substitutes (coconut sugar is the best for me).
Everyone is different, and you have to work with one's specific body, get to a level of health you are happy with and stick to it.
What is often very neglected with lupus is the impact of stress.
